Best Car Ever Purchased

The 2003 V6 Accord EX has been an exceptional car to own and drive for 5 years. The comfort, handling and performance have been outstanding. It is a fun car to drive while being a very practical every day use vehicle. Honda's nav. system was the best on the market, easy to use with great graphics. The interior and exterior have held up very well for 5 years and the cars appearance is close to show room new without exceptional efforts.

Best car i have owned

I got this as my first car about a month age for by birthday, it has been ausome. I will continue to get hondas. The only thing i would recommend is that you should get the trans. looked at, my friend got a 2003 accord v6 and he has trans. problems, but the 4 cyl. should be fine.

Awesome

This vehicle was purcased new (Oct-2002) just as the new style came out. We now have 97,000 miles on it with a total MPG average of 27.4. This is a 4 cylinder LX that has awesome 0-60 ability and we have not had a single problem with it. The only complaint, that is unresonable to expect, is the road noise. My husband complains about this all the time but is unwilling to put out the money for a luxury car that would give us this benefit. All joking aside--this car has preformed beyond expectation.

Absolutely Thrilled

My first "foreign" car, and I'm never going back! (The car is actually built in the US, anyway.) This car is an amazing value. My model isn't even top-of-the line, but has a surprising array of conveniences that I've previously only expected on luxury brands -- heated power seats, auto climate control, outside temp gauge, valet mode, lumbar adjustment, good quality leather, six cup holders, fold-down rear seat, alarm, and (with the navigation system option) voice commands for nav, a/c and stereo. Before buying, I read many reviews that lamented for the V6 engine (which mine doesn't have). But I've been very happy with the car -- no problems merging onto the highway, and still very smooth and responsive at 70+mph. I had a V8 Mustang previously, so I've been pleasantly surprised with how well this model performs. The nav system was a pricey option, but I've been very happy with it. It's much more convenient that fumbling with a portable model, and it tracks the car's position even even in tunnels and downtown streets where the sky is obscured. The voice reminders for upcoming turns are annoying, because they constantly mute the radio -- so I turned them off. I use the "search by name" feature often, and the outdated directory (via a disk in the trunk) is starting to become a problem -- there are updates available for sale online. The handling in this car is very good -- probably perfect for a sedan of this price and size -- but not as good as a top-of-the-line sport sedan. My favorite "unadvertised" feature is the ability to use the remote to roll-down all the windows on a hot day, so the car starts to cool down before I get in. Just hold the unlock button for an extra two seconds, and all the windows will start to roll down until you release it. I've had a few small problems. On the trunk pass-through behind the arm rest, the door flimsy latch broke. The rear seat release from the trunk also requires "persuasion" in order to work. At 45K miles, the engine is starting to idle a bit rough, but I've not asked a mechanic to inspect it yet. I bought my car used at just under 36K miles, so I was able to buy an extended Honda warranty from a Honda Dealer (tip: shop online for the best price).

honda accord smooth shifting 5-speed

shifts smooth but rolls on the engine mounts. Need to drive well to be smooth... 60k miles no problems. I like the 5-speed and the 4-cylinder engine combo. Fuel economy 26-mpg. Would buy with sunroof next time.

Lots of fun to Drive!

We bought this car in 2003, "slightly" used as a demo. It had 8,700 miles on it and we bought it for $22,000. It is an awesome car for the money. It handles great, has lots of power (240 HP), and looks good, too. If you find one of these cars in good condition, buy it! The only draw back is the Buick-like styling, kind of bland, but nice. We have had nothing wrong with this vehicle except for a few minor recalls (dash light going out, squeaking in transmission, break roders going out), but Honda replaced all of them for free. If you are looking for a fun, reliable, big car... BUY THIS ONE!!!

Check the TRANSMISSION!

I have a 2003 V6 Accord 2Dr AT. I purchased the car used in March 2006 with 50,000 miles. Before I purchased it, I brought the car to a mechanic to inspect it. Everything checked out ok. Just 2 days(Jan24,2007) ago @ 74000mi, I lost 3rd gear in my transmission. No warning lights or anything noticeable happened before that gear gave out. I have serviced it regularly, trans oil was fine, and honda installed a recall device in the 2nd gear. Nothing wrong was noticed by the dealer. After the incident, I brought my car to a transmission specialist. He says I dont have a 3rd gear! It wore out. I didnt have any acceleration in my 3rd gear. Now my car neeeds a trans overhaul. Thank goodness I purchased a warranty which covers the trans. Total cost: $1500-3000. This problem is probably due to the trans being the newest generation. Honda must not have foreseen it. Please check the transmission before buying a used V6 Honda. I still love my car.

Best honda i've owned

Great reliable car with a lot of power, especially the v6. Great interior styling. The higher sticker price is well worth in the long term. Definately the best honda I have ever owned.

Good Car to buy

I have driven the vehicle and the performance of a 3+ years old car is pretty good. It has dual front airbags, dual side airbags and dual curtain airbags, adding the safety to the driver and the passengers. Comparing mileage with similar cars, this car gives 22 on city and 29 on freeway which is much better than others. Since I drove it on city and freeway, it gave roughly about 26 miles per gallon. It has a very good pickup, thanks to the 240HP engine, that accelerates from 0-60 with in 6 seconds. There are minor blemishes due to the wear and tear and that did not impact the performance of the vehicle. A very good buy and a value for money.
