Close but no cigar

Spent a lot of money buying this EX-L used. Problems with worn clutch, squeaky clutch pedal, faulty oxygen sensor and more. I have 91,000 miles on it. Engine runs flawlessly and burns little gas. Where else can you sit in leather luxury and save on fuel in style? Still, repair costs are higher and more frequent than I bargained for. Alloy wheels are corroding badly. Honda quality is slipping in my mind.

What is that smell

Purchased this 6 cyl. 2003 Accord used. Consistently have had sulfur smell and was pretty sure it wasn't our hound Rupert. Took it to the dealership for routine checkups and maintenance since purchase. Each time I complained about the odor. They never even suggested it was Rupert, and always said it was fine. Now that it is out of warranty, they tell me I need to have all the injectors replaced. This car has not held up to the Honda quality rhetoric: chrome on the interior door handles chipping away from normal use, a door latch that had to be replaced, a seat motor that was rarely used that needs to be replaced, transmission shifting that has become rough overtime, and that rotten egg smell. I have three Hondas, this will be the last.

Great disappointment

Manufacturer recalls, several complete break-downs, and now, after 6 years, a failed transmission and a $3500 repair characterize our experience with the first (and last) Honda we have owned. I cannot recommend the car, based on frequent reliability issues, the high cost (and frequency) of required repairs, and the runaround that Honda Motors North-America has given us when we needed something fixed. If you buy one used, make sure that - it does not have the original stereo/cd changer - it does not have the original transmission

2003 Honda Accord EX V6 Coupe w/ 6sp manual tran

However much I like to drive this car, the thing goes through brakes and tires like nobody's business! I have 65k miles and I have had front pads & rotors replaced once, back rotors & pads replaced TWICE and have to get my third set of tires. The original Michelin tires were horrible in the snow and lasted 35k miles. I got a set of Yokohama's and they were much better in snow but only lasted 30k miles. If you have a choice go for the regular version of the Accord because maintenance is going to cost you on this one!

Transmisson problems

I bought a Honda on the idea that it was one of the most reliable vehicles out there, however that has not been the case with my Honda. Please before you buy read all you can on the reviews. I had to replace my A/C twice, replaced 3 of 6 o2 sensors, Power seat track replace THREE times, power steering pump replaced and last and most important the TRANSMISSON went out with 83,000 miles. I have found several hundrand other people over the web that have lost their transmission between 80,000-150,000 miles. Please I am tring to save you hundred's of dollars...they may have fix the new years however don't buy the 2003 this is the worst year for the V6 model. I set up a case with Honda about the transmission and was told there was nothing they can do to help me.

Simply great car

This is my fiance's car. She bought it new late in the model year. She and I have put nearly 140K on this beauty. No major repairs. Had the tranny fluid changed and the timing belt changed a bit after recommended mileage. I think these are the two most important preventive measures, besides oil changes, that a car needs today. Had the tires replaced once so far. Had a brake caliper lockup, but it was no big deal. Happened at about 120K. I do the brake work on this and it was an easy fix. Parts were very reasonable also. I also replaced cruise switch at about same time. I use it religiously. This car screams. It's the V-6. Been on many trips with it and you can drive a steady 85 and still get 32+mpg. The overdrive ratio is about as good as you get. My RPM load is the same ratio-wise at 55 as 85. I've taken to driving it more sensible locally and have seen the city/highway combo go to about 27MPG. I would buy again for sure and recommend it to anyone.

Surprisingly great driving car

This 4 cylinder engine has 160 hp that is very responsive with a 5 speed manual. It glides up to top speed on highways! Yet gas mileage is still quite good at 32 mpg combined driving. Steering and handling is very good, not far off from sportscar like. The ride can be a little stiff but always feels in control. Reliability is very good but not perfect.
