My 2007 CR-V has 265,000 miles and remains the best
My 2007 CR-V has 265,000 miles and remains the best vehicle I’ve ever owned and my 4th CR-V. I have no intention of selling anytime soon, but if I can afford a newer one I will definitely buy it. Why change when you’ve had a gold mine. Vini Messina Tewksbury, MA

Do your own research first.
We bought ours used and it had been in an accident and not fixed up properly. Mechanical issues with front end suspension and drive train components needed repairs more then once. No transmission issues however. CV joints and bearings, loud squeezing from the rear suspension bushings drove us crazy. Good mechanics are so rare here in Philippines.

The most unreliable car of all time
Sure, the engine never failed, but holy smokes, I spent xxxx near five grand to keep it running, I got it w 59k miles, thinking, it’s a Honda, you can’t go wrong, haaaaa, the exhaust blew out, the ac condenser went, the steering rack went, leaking, the headlights would yellow up easily, no matter what I couldn’t get the thing aligned correctly, after repair after repair to the steering, I gave up, I couldn’t deal with it, nobody could figure out what was wrong with it despite the extensive steering repairs, I traded it in after two years of owning it, I’ll tell you one thing, Honda’s have great engines, but the little parts, brakes, suspension pieces, forget about it. Terrible, never again, went back to a rav4. Xpzero regrets, buyer beware with them crvs

Can't go wrong with Honda
Will run for 200k miles easy! This is a great car and you cannot go wrong buying a Honda. Just know that the A/C will need to be replaced at 100k miles...every Honda...every time.

Best Car I've Ever Owned!!!
Everything about it is amazing. It has a little more road noise on the highway then I would like, but otherwise, perfect. Very roomy, great gas mileage.

13 years later and still an excellent car
I bought this car used with one previous owner who took very good care of it. The car has been reliable and great to drive. I live in the PNW so having the AWD for weather and less than ideal roads is key. I will say the car does handle more like a sedan for some people that is a major plus. I don't mind it because it is easy to drive with excellent visibility and maneuverability in town/city. However, I do sometimes miss another smaller crossover SUV I had that a more typical SUV suspension. For example, I don't drive it down on the riverbed when I used to do that w/ my other car. I imagine the CRV would be fine but I haven't tested it since it is so much more sedan-like. People are often shocked to find out the car is 13 years old, the styling of the exterior and interior have held up very well and are not too dated looking even now. Mine is an EX and not EX-L so no heated leather seats or upgraded radio, but I find the cloth seats to be very comfortable. I also like the armrests in the CRV front seats. Mine has the center-console tray that folds down which at first I thought I would not like, but I feel there is ample storage in the front that replace a typical center console. I've actually been able to move a few larger/long items easy since the console folds down. There is an AC recall on the vehicle and unfortunately mine is still all-original and was not replaced in the warranty timeline. I bought the car understanding this already and anticipate the cost so if you are buying one of these CRVs used look into this. Recently the alternator went bad and that was the first major repair since I've owned it. After reviewing the service records it actually appears to be the most major part replacement/work it has ever had to have. The battery was even original, and only died now due the alternator failure. Alternators typically last 7 years/100,000 miles and mine has 160,000 so I'm not even upset it went out. The only major appearance flaw is that the headlights have an issue with getting very yellow and cloudy which reduces the brightness. Keep up with doing headlight restoration every few years and this should be fine. I didn't realize how bad mine had become til I had them restored and wow - what a difference. Even though the car is older, if you find one that has been well maintained it is still a great buy at 150,000 miles. I bought mine with 139,000 in May 2019 and now a year later have put almost 20,000 of my own miles on it with no problem. The car has been on many long-distance trips in all kinds of climates and I frequently make a 14 hour drive to southern CA in it all the time. As far as upgrades go, I am interested in raising the suspension slightly, installing a new stereo receiver and better speakers, getting a roof rack, as well as all-weather mats to replace the cloth ones. Most things are utilitarian or design updates because the car itself is solid.
