Decent but boring

This is the 2nd CRV for me. My other was a 2001. Anyway I like exterior design of the 2012 but that's really the only high point. This vehicle has the typical Honda sticky brakes, overly sensitive steering, and stiff ride. Engine performance is average, headlights don't have a very good range, and leather seats make my back sweaty. The ride height is great, plenty of cargo room and passenger comfort. Haven't tried the AWD yet but wish one could lock it into place manually. When backing up I can hear a clicking noise but dealer said this is the rear brake calibers and nothing can be done about it. Overall the CRV is nothing special to drive or brag about.

Love the looks and reliability

It was time to trade my 10 year old Accord for another Honda. I love the redesign and the SUV drives like a car. The gas mileage has been excellent and in general I am very happy with my purchase. 2 small gripes...the horn sounds like it belongs on a car half the size of this one. Also, the front passenger seat has no arm rests...which everyone has complained about so far who has sat there. This is on the LX trim version, so I think next time I would probably step up to EX to get an extra armrest (!!) and also a sunroof. But overall, an excellent car.

Best all around Cross over

We love our CR-V EX-L Navi AWD with aftermarket DVD. It fits our family of four very well and is very nice to drive. It delivers about 24 mpg combined driving and with the new Michelin Defenders it blasted through the snow and ice here in Michigan. We have had it one year this month and put on 24,000 miles. I wish it had some rav4 and cx5 options like memory seating, lane And blind side warning and adaptive cruise. Power lift gate would be nice as well, but what make us Mazda CX5 owners is the skyactiv diesel coming out later this year. Bring in the diesel and options Honda or our next vehicle this year will not be another Honda.

First CRV, Third Honda

My parents purchased a 2012 Honda CRV EX-L AWD brand new back in July of 2012 (about 7 months ago now) and love it. My mom has driven nothing but Hondas for the past 25 years starting with her 1988 Honda Accord. After the '88, she bought a 2002 Accord, which is what I'm currently driving with only 63,000 miles on it. You don't care about the other cars though. This is the first CR-V, no wait, first SUV my family has ever owned. They wanted something with a bit more cargo room to get to and from the shore, but didn't want to sacrifice on gas mileage. The cargo room is great and the low load floor that everyone talks about really does make it easier to load things into the back of this car. Unfortunately, the gas mileage is the only complaint they have with this car. It is not nearly what was expected averaging anywhere from 16-19 MPG depending on the type of driving. (Don't be too discouraged though because in my opinion the engine still needs to be broken in. It's only at 3500 miles) Other than the miles per gallon gripes, they are in love with the car. This is the first car with a leather interior they've owned and will probably never go back to cloth seats. My mom especially loves the heated seats. The bluetooth streaming audio has to be my favorite feature, so much so that I actually went out and bought a new head unit for my 2002 Accord because I couldn't live without it after having it. Another thing about this vehicle that kind of surprised me was the amount of backseat leg room. Not only is the backseat comfortable, but there is enough leg room for the Jolly Green Giant to be comfortable. If you're considering buying a practical vehicle, I would tell you to buy this car in a heartbeat. You aren't going to win many drag races with it, but that would kill the gas mileage anyway.

Great CR-V

Our 3rd Honda in the past 18 years. I'm sold on the brand. The CR-V really does it all for us. I can't say enough good about it. Do wish I had bought the AWD model but not an issue yet.

Awful hard seats, slow, should get MPG with a 4 Cy

Brought this CRV to get around town, wife might use to go to work occasionally and to pull behind motor home. The front leather seats are hard, with no back support. It has NO pick up at all very difficult to merge in heavy traffic. Four cylinder gets only 24 - 25, I was getting that in a Ford Taurus. It is a light car so it pulls well behind motor home. IF you are not a techy person the radio/climate control in EX-l will drive you crazy.

First SUV I have owned

Bought a 2012 Honda CR-V EX-L AWD w/Nav as a holdover. Got great deal. Wife had wanted a puppy for years and thought we needed a vehicle that was doggy compatible. Bought CR-V a week before Christmas and immediately took it on a 1600 mile trip to see family. CR-V handles like a car with AWD handling helping through some snow in Ohio. Interior feels spacious even though CR-V is built on Civic chassis. Fit and finish inside is adequate, though not up to my standards of having an Audi A6 previously. Running XM radio through Nav screen is somewhat cumbersome. Should be easier to operate as we become more familiar with its operation. Cargo space behind 2nd row of seats is very good; with seats down, downright cavernous. Folding 2nd row seats is very easy and can be done from back doors or cargo area. Hoping for Honda reliabilty and residual value. Will write a full report at 1 year anniversary.

Good basic small SUV

The new CRV is more stylish and comfortable than ever. The bluetooth audio system is a great addition to anyone with a smart phone or other bluetooth audio system. Although it has slightly small payload capability than the Hyundai Santa Fe I traded in for it, the rear cargo area is better configured for hauling all the stuff my wife, dog, and I need for a comfortable week in the woods.

Buying an SUV

We tried several versions of SUV's but for the money, value, and overall impression, decided a CR-V was the right choice
