Very costly for repairs. Have major issues engine

Wouldn't recommend buying a 2014 CRV. Having issues with over head cam actuator. Now seems like the timing chain is going out. Only 76000 miles on it!

Bought New in 2013

Has been very reliable and haven't had any issues. Sometimes when cranking up, it makes a funny sound like the starter continues to run, although we are holding the key in start position.

Engine Defect

The 2.4L engine has a defect known by Honda since 2008. The VTC actuator is defective, and is realized by a 2 second rattle at startup in cold weather. Honda issued a TSB (16-012), but the problem resurfaces. American Honda has ignored all my pleas for a solution, even after I spent nearly $1,200 to have the TSB performed. This problem eventually damages the timing chain, and some owners have had valve damage due to the chain failing. If this issue wasn't present the CR-V would be a pretty nice vehicle. Honda has turned their back on a loyal customer base.

Great family car

It's really nice for the money and it'll last forever. Once you kick in VTEC it'll scoot, too. Great handling for an SUV and impressed me a lot. It's a beast in the snow.

Great car for our teens

This is the 2nd CR-V we've purchased. When it was time to replace our first, we immediately knew we wanted another CR-V. They drive well, last a long time and are nice size.

It's a user friendly vehicle.

The AWD is impressive I do enjoy the electric assist steering. Plenty of cargo space a good highway SUV. It's a non turbo with a 5 speed automatic its a smooth driveline. I recommend this year vehicle it's a non direct injection engine. This vehicle has had issues but warranty has corrected them. It has no added safety add ones. It's a good average vehicle.

Handles like a boss, drives like a coup!

This is an suv that is a powerhouse in space handling, comfort and in all the areas of life that matter. I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Honda guy!!

Bought new in 2014. Simple basic car. Does all I need. Very reliable, adequate power, practical, all the cargo space I need. Spartan interior but I like that. I am mainly interested in reliability and practicality. Naturally aspirated engine with one of the smoothest auto transmissions I have ever driven. I can work on the car a bit. Honda owner since 1981! Don't at all for the new Gen Honda CRV's= turbo, direct injection and cvt.

My 2014 Honda CR-V EXL AWD is a cream puff

3rd Honda we've owned.Buying another CV-V. The All Wheel Drive option is wonderful especially in bad weather. They are simply GREAT. Easy to maintain, easy to drive and a pleasure to own. Kudos to the Honda CR-V
