Best Gas Mileage of any car I've ever owned.

Reliable Vehicle

This is a good car for a small family in the suburbs. Its not too big but has enough room to carry things. Good gas milage, good on interior space too.

My First Honda

I drove mostly Dodge Caravans until kids grew up and at which point I wanted a change. Now, I get that the CR-V is more of an SUV than minivan, but couldn't help noticing some trade-offs. There is less leg room that I expected and I don't find it as easy to jump in and out, despite the telescoping wheel. The seat feels a little snug and not very comfortable, although this may be the EXL's leather making it a firm comfort level. The city fuel economy is most disappointing, I can't seem to be able to get more than 17.5mpg despite all my efforts. The mileage greatly improves on highway though at 33mpg. I also can't get used to the road noise and bumpy ride. You feel every bump in the road and listening to music on the highway or speaking to someone sitting at the back becomes a challenge that I never had before. The rear view is also limited and the small backup screen doesn't help much on a rainy night. I almost bumped into my son's car relying on it. I will try a different car next time, although the CR-V looks cute and appears very reliable, two months into owning it.

No good

Maybe I got a lemon, but if you look on Honda CR-V forums you will see others with the same multiple issues that I encountered all within the years I owned the SUV. Here's the list of everything I encountered, this is not in the order the issues happened. -Fautly Tpms light always going on. -Grinding noise for 2-3 when starting it in the cold sounded like it had no oil (VTC problem). -Multiple types of annoying Vibrations while at idle and driving around 20-30mph and sometimes at 50 mph. - A harmonic hum/wine coming from up front between 40-55 mph would sometimes be heard over the radio. -Rotors needing to turned or replace every 20,000 miles sometimes less. - Vehicle seemed to never stay aligned -Rims leaked from the inside out -Lug Nuts seemed to not fit right at times. -Head lights were never bright enough. -Compass always needed to be recalubated -Vehicle had a miss or hesitation at times that always needed the computer to be flashed or updated. There was some more things but I don't want to bore you with them. Honda used to be very dependable but with all this going on I couldn't see owning it when it was going to be out of warranty. Honda has slipped up the past few years, to me it's just another car manufacturer nothing special anymore, very overrated and over priced. I replaced this problematic 2014 CRV with a 2019 Buick Encore which has been a wonderful delight and very underrated by multiple review places. So it you considering a 2012-2014 you better research and make sure you don't go though all the problems I had. Not highly recommend if you don't want to see the service department on a regular basis.

Worst vehicle after 4 years of ownership

Lists of stuff that happened in the 4 years of owning this Vehicle just want to let others aware of this horrible vehicle. I traded in on a 2019 Buick Encore at least I got $14,000 towards my Buick. But this review is on the 2014 Honda CR-V EX that had 80,000 miles on it. First off at 1,000 miles it had a very annoying fluttering/whine type of noise that I hear in the engine area that always happens around 50-60mph, it seems to only happen when I let off the gas or I'm coasting at that speed. As soon as you press the gas it goes away, you can even hear it over the radio sometimes when the volume is at 12. Honda says it is normal for the car to do this, not buying it because the car only had 1,000 miles on it. Second the vehicle occasionally when it press on the accelerator, the car doesn't move for about a second, then it accelerates normally. Then when the car is accelerated slowly, the engine flutters when reaching 3rd gear. Third when cold outside a grinding noise (metal to metal like) at first start up, lasting up to 2 seconds. For a newer car, this is unacceptable, and embarrassing, has happened since 10,000 miles. Fourth, I don't drive rough so brakes shouldn't be a problem. Anyways dealer says have to change 2 rotors and all brake pads, had to pay $700. Left a feedback, people from dealership called but basically said it is a fair price to have it changed. Why do you change stuff if you're not going to test it? Spent almost 30k and still dealing with WEAR AND TEAR, I mean after 1 year. This 2014 CRV is full of problems, won't be buying another one again. Honda is known for reliability, but not anymore, I don't recommend any CR-V to anyone after this costly vehicle thats supposed to be dependable, maybe Honda was years ago but not now a days. So greatful not to own it anymore, I'm very happy so far with the 2019 Buick Encore.

Great car!

I bought this vehicle with 14,000 miles on it. Great value. Great performance. Incredibly reliable! We wanted to tow a trailer with it and it does so wonderfully.

Best SUV

Third one we've owned. Have test driven Rav4 and Nissan Rogue and they don't compare. And price is very reasonable compared to others. Very roomy with great features.

Just bought, but I'm certain it was the right call

Very clean interior & exterior styling. Just what you want and expect for a family vehicle. Plenty of oomph. However, the seating is a little higher off the ground than necessary.

Pre-owned Nice drive.

As this car is pre-owned I cannot speak to reliability or value as much of this is dependent on the previous owners who left the car in a ghastly state...very dirty so if the car/maintenance was treated the same way, I do not know if I will have problems with the mechanics of the vehicle. I love Hondas, I love the way they grip the road. the car is low to the ground compared to my last vehicle so I find getting into it is a little more challenging...the drive is nice...still getting use to the econo feature which seems to save a significant amount of gas but makes the car noisier as well. The brakes are unpredictable and wonder if they require servicing I did not receive at transition. but otherwise I really like this vehicle...lots of space to load things up. feel safe in it.
