Great value for the money

I compared the Fit with a Prius and am glad that I saved a lot of money. It would take 15 years to make up the difference in price with fuel savings, and I love the design of the Fit--especially the folding back seat.

Surprising what "Fits" in this car

I would like to have a lumbar bar in the back seat, and I feel that the shifting from 3rd to 4th is slow. I LOVE the extra windows in the front and back of the car, MUCH safer to drive. I thought it was a bit overpriced. Would have liked to have $2,000 less. Very reliable. I miss the temperature announcement. Interesting that after each oil change I get MORE miles per gallon on the car.

Love My New Car

I have to say that I love my Fit. It is fun to drive and I love the styling of the interior. When I first bought the car, I was a little disappointed because I was only averaging 28-30 mpg. But when I hit 2,000 miles, I was on a trip from Houston to San Antonio. On that trip I averaged 37.5 mpg, and part of the trip on that tank of gas was driving on city streets in Houston. Most of my driving is divided between highway and city and I am averaging 34 mpg. I started watching the gauge on the dash for current mpg and I am learning to adjust my acceleration and coasting to maximize my mpg. I have the Sport model with automatic transmission and I wish I had gone ahead and paid for the navigation. I work out of my car and the interior styling gives me lots of spaces for storage for the things I need while working. On my first long trip, I did find the seat to be a bit uncomfortable, but that has improved. The seat is fine as long as I take the time to make sure I am sitting in the center of the seat and that I am the correct distance from the stearing wheel. I have a bad back, so others may not have this problem. Also, there is so much hauling space in the back. I make and sell handmade pottery on the weekends, and last weekend, I was able to fit everything needed for my booth in the back of the Fit and still had room for myself and my husband. In previous vehicles, I have had to move the front passenger seat so far forward that a passenger would not fit. My husband also loves driving it and is contemplating getting a Fit for himself. Besides saving money on gas, you will also save money on oil changes. I am at 4700 miles and still no oil change in site. I have read that it may only need an oil change once a year, basically when the indicator light says that an oil change is needed. Fun, fun car.

Nice Fit For My LifeStyle

I really love the look of my new Honda Fit it looks like a mini Odyssey Van. The interior is a little on the econo side but very practical. Seats are definitely for small people not very wide and not a lot of cushioning. I'm only 5'7" and I drive with my seat all the way back so there isn't a lot of leg room. The back seats fold down and make it easy for us to load up our road bikes. I could easily fit 3 Bikes with the front wheels off. The gas mileage is good not great but it's what they claimed it would be. Love the paddle shifters don't use them much but they are cool. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase just wish it had a bit more power and got better gas mileage but i guess you can't have both.

I bought a Honda

It?s a little affordable car that gets good gas mileage. That?s all I expected and that is pretty much what we got. At this point if I needed another car I?d buy another one without a second thought. It?s not all that comfortable, it doesn?t ride great but on a long trip it got 39.1 MPG and the combined city/highway is running right around 35.5. I find that I have plenty of head room and if she is shopping I can turn on NPR, lay the seat almost flat and snooze. I love the fold down rear seats (I keep them in that position so it feels like I have a 2 seater.) This thing is Zippy! Fun to drive, easy to park.

No Pickup Truck Nessesary

After retirement, I traded an old E320 MBZ for a red 2012 Honda Fit Sport w/5 spd. AT. I am always impressed with the cargo volume and the overall engineering in this small hatchback. The MPG's were somewhat stifled (27-28 mpg) until I read the owners manual, on pp 186, it says to use 87 octane or higher, which at high altitude (CO) is mid-grade. I had been using the 85 octane, no one ever mentioned I should use an upgraded fuel. Now a 62 mph highway trip gets 40 mpg and around the house (hilly and lots of stop signs), 34 mpg plus. One other item if you own one of these, do not leave the headlights on. The battery went kaput after 3.5 hours. There isn't an automatic shutoff on mine. Overall, I am thrilled with my Milano red Fit, yes I put several SF horse decals on this car... after all, it's my little red Ferrari. Have fun if you get one of these.
