Great Little Car - Fun to Drive

Have had my 2012 Fit for a little over 4 months now, about 4500 miles. I love this car. Wanted an economical, fun car to drive but must be reliable also. It's early for the reliability verdict (obviously no problems at all yet), but most important my family of 4 loves this car. My wife and I, and 2 teenage boys love the car. Enough power, all things considered, and very good gas mileage. Confused by some of the poor mileage comments. Combined highway/local driving gets us about 30MPG, and mostly highway gets us in the vicinity of 37MPG. My opinion, I may get better mileage from another small car, but everything that this car gives me, combined with anticipated/historical reliability makes this a no-brainer. Hoping to get many years from a car I truly enjoy.

GREAT CAR FOR THE MONEY

We looked at a Kia Soul and decided to purchase this instead. I could not be happier, A lot of interior room, plenty of power, and so far great fuel economy. I would definitely recomend this car to anyone. Has plenty of room for two carseats for grandkids in back and plenty of leg room for adults in back seat.

Not too sure

I have owned my Fit for 4 months and have 4000 Mi. It rides fine and, like most new cars, it's dependable. No problems. It's also easy to get in and out. For seniors, that's an important issue. My only negative issue is gas mileage. The main reason I purchased this car is to get better gas mileage. It's a small car and it's a Honda. Thought I would get more than 26.3 MPG. I am an older guy and an easy driver. No fast starts or stops. I drive on the highway mostly but do some city driving. Have tried several brands of gas. Best I can do is 26.6. Prior, I owned a 6 year old large Chrysler. I averaged 22 MPG consistantly. Thought I would do much better. Not too happy with this car.

Best Compact Car 2012 Honda Fit base 5 speed

I have owned other Honda's in the past. I was always impressed with the reliability and performance of these cars. I am very happy with my Honda Fit. I average 35mpg around town and recently averaged 38mpg on a round trip to Florida. The little engine revs a bit higher than i am used to (about 3300rmp at 70mph). I am happy with the 5 speed tranny. Fun car to drive. I plan to buy another.

Best Small Car

We trade back our great Honda Sport FIT every 2 years for another NEW one! No problems of any kind with any of them! This 2012 is best of all and we are now getting 40-42 mpg on highway driving, around 37 local trips. Lots of pep and fun to drive. Best part is we can nearly carry about anything we buy within it by lowering the seats as needed. This included a 6 ft oak large size workbench (in box needing assembly) when store manager spoke up and said that won't fit in your little car.... It fit just fine! So did 2 filing cabinets we bought at a garage sale! Free oil & filter changes for life came with it from the great dealership! I'm hoping Honda will change the looks for their future FIT as we are already thinking ahead. A happy older couple!

Pretty good, but

Pretty good little runabout but gas mileage is not great- Average about 26.5, not much better than our terrific Acura. These guys that are saying they get 35 or so must not do math accurately or their gauge is off.. Sunvisor need extensions even Hyundais have these. Handy for our Golden Reteivers though with lots of room thru the hatchback. Good for the price.

OK, BUT

I purchased this car 4 weeks ago. I'm a big guy. 6' and 250 pounds. I find the car easy to get in and out. Overall, the car is comfortable. This is a great little car for hauling around everyday items. I'm a Realtor and need room for signs and other equipment. Not a problem. On the road, it keeps up with traffic easily. It is reasonably comfortable and not too much road noise. The only item that is a suprise is the gas mileage. I purchased this car because I felt it would give me better than average mileage. No So, so far. I seem to average 23-26 MPG. That is only a bit higher than the 2006 PT Cruser I traded in. Most of my driving is a mixture of highway and freeways. Not too much city driving. I currently have 1200 miles on the car. I am hoping that the mileage improves.

Good car but...

The ride is bumpier than I would like. It also does not have a lot of pep, e.g. acceleration. But it has tons of room inside, is small and easy to park, great value for the money and will be a very reliable car. I wish they had an LX model, like they do for the Accord. I would have paid a bit extra for leather seats and better shocks.
