thank you!
this car is far superior to my 2008 honda in every way. i have had it for over 5 months now, got it in december right after they came out. really does get 40mpg! i get over 30 in city. 5800 miles and not one problem. my honda was in shop all the times after i took delivery. (and let me down too many times to even consider another) lots of fun to drive. thanks so much!

2011 Elantra Should Be Car of the Year
Got the Limited with Nav Pkg. Awesome. Went on a big road trip already. No disappointments. As comfortable as my Pilot - just smaller. Tremendous value for the money. Great gas mileage - gonna need it!

First Hyundai I've Owned
I compared the 2011 Elantra, 2011 Chevy Cruze, 2011 Kia Forte, 2011 Ford Fiesta, and 2011 Toyota Corolla. I brought the new 2011 Elantra Limited. Edging out the 2011 Chevy Cruze which was a close second. Elantra had a little more room and too many extras included that the Cruze did not have. Elantra also had better MPG. All the other cars which I drove and looked at felt cheap, lacked style, or were too small. I have 7,000 miles on my Elantra now. I had no problems. It has been a really amazing car. Style inside just flows. Leather heated seats front and back have been a joy. Power Sunroof and quite interior. Doors are easy to close and seal the wind noise out. It has an ipod hook up and satelite radio. Handling is tight and responsive. The performance and ride is good. It is not the quickest car out there but it does fine. For quiker accelaration I use the six speed shiftronic which is fun. If you rev the RPM up it will acceralate a little quicker but this is not what I bought the car for. I bought it for its fuel ecomony and overall value which has been great! On mixed driving (City/HWY) MPG is 33-36. Hwy driving 40-45 MPG driving speed limit. I have gotten 50 MPG but that was really driving 50-55 MPH. Not pushing on the gas quickly and coasting where I can. (It has an Econ setting definitely helps). I would recommend the 2011 Hyundai Elantra. If you are in the market for a new car with great value and MPG you should definitely give it a test drive.

Miss My Honda
We bought a 2011 Elantra Limited to join our family of Honda vehicles. The car it replaced was my beloved 2009 Civic EX-L. Hadn't been for years of driving Civic's, my husband's Accord's and family's Honda minivans and SUV's I would be more understanding of our Elantra's short-comings. We do love the exterior styling! It is sharp. The interior looks good and the seats are nice, but there are too many loose parts and wide gaps here and there, especially on the dash and front driver's door. Space is severely limited by the funky roof design. There are no power seats, even available on the top shelf Limited. I agree with another owner here that the rear heated seats are not ideal with playful youngsters and even bored adults! I wish the Elantra had dual zone air, but no! Not even on our "optioned out" Limited. The car does not steer straight. It tends to pull hard to the left... a danger. The car has been in the shop five times in two weeks with no progress made in fixing the steering issues and other ongoing problems. I miss my old Honda Civic.

Outstanding Small Car
I bought this car because of the appearance and the fuel mileage. Having owned many cars in my life I would have to rate this as one of the best. Fuel economy is great and so is comfort for my long drives. I live in the snow belt near the great lakes and have had several opportunities to drive the car in some very difficult weather. Handling and traction was excellent. Road noise is very low and there are no rattles. This one is a definite buy. Just saw a article in Consumer Reports where they rank it best in Class and I could not agree more. Ps passengers lover the heated rear seats.

I want one....
I want and need a new car. Been looking for months and can not seem to get the forces of the universe to come together. Lusted after an Elantra Touring for months. Then the new Elantra boasted almost 40mpg! Fate would force me to rent a car for a week. I got the new Elantra. Round trip to New Orleans from North Louisiana and a weeks worth of zipping around. I want one. My wife wants one (sun roof, of course). It zipped and zoomed and got excellent mileage too. By the time I had to turn it in I wanted to keep it. Renting a car is the ultimate test drive. Our present 2000 Elantra wagon has over 2k miles and still runs good. Hope this helps....chas

Fantastic Buy for the Money
I recently purchased the 2011 Elantra Limited after driving much larger high end vehicles but after I started forking out $800 a month in gas I wanted to make a change. I spent weeks researching all the vehicles in this class and drove the Honda Civic, Corolla, Mazda 3 etc This car is simply remarkable for the price. The gas mileage is dead on and I would consider myself an aggressive driver. I have had it as high as 50 MPG on the HWY and average 35 which is heavy city and HWY combined. The interior is great with no issues for 6 foot 3 individual weighing over 260 pounds. The options are great and easier to use than my wife's vehicle that was three times the cost of this vehicle. I simply can not say enough about how impressive this vehicle is to drive...I never thought I would buy a Hyundai and until this new body style etc would not have even considered it. For all the Hyundai critics that are out there I simply say "get over It" This is the best car in it's class and probably another class up....do not wait if you are thinking about it and simply go test drive one. I believe you will be impressed as much as your bank account will appreciate it.

Great car!
I feel obligated to post my comments since I researched all the eco-cars for about 3 weeks online and driver opinions ultimately steered me towards buying this car. After comparing all the stats and driver opinions, we bought the GLS model and am very happy with it. Average 38 mpg highway with only 300 miles on car. I was surprised on how much pickup the 1.8 has. The road noise is fine until you hit a rough road, then it is a little noisy but in all honestly, all eco-cars are like that. Like previous posts, the powersteering takes a little time to get used to on the highway as it seems to over compensate for your steering. Hope it is a reliable car (first Hyundia), too soon to comment on that. The ride is smooth, it grips the road very well and there is a ton of space in the car, front and back. I would highly recommend this car to anyone looking for a eco-car. To be honest, I had my doubts about small cars, but this thing is pretty impressive.

Give it a year or two to get the bugs out...
bought a sharp red metallic elantra limited & love the way it looks. the interior is a far cry better than past hyundai's i have owned, but it could do with better controls, less plastics and & repositioned air vents. for the steep price of the limited model, there is no dual air conditioning or power seat controls. rear heated seats are silly & annoying as you cannot keep back seat passengers, especially children from playing with them or leaving them on to drain the battery. i would rather see more up front creature comforts. the car suffers from annoying rattles, minor orange peel on the hood and front left fender, tugging to the right & leak in the sunroof - the second hyundai i have had with this problem. i figure things should improve after the 2011 model & wish i had waited until '12 or '13.

Love-Hate-Relationship
The car looks great & has lots of features for the price, yet the quality is not on par with our past Hondas and our 2009 Acura TL. Like: looks, price, std. equipment. Dislikes: Ride, sloppy handling, lack of rear headroom, rattles at speeds above 25, no power seats even on the Limited, cheap plastics. If not for being in the garage twice, I would have given our new Elantra a C+, but it has earned a D- so far. I am looking forward to test driving the 2012 Honda Civic EX when it is introduced, from the years of trouble free Honda-Acura ownership. I think I will take a look at the Mazda3, too. Proven reliability is key and this I overlooked when buying the Elantra over a Honda, Toyota, Nissan or Mazda.
