2012 Hyundai ELANTRA consumer reviews

I bought a 2012 Hyundai Elantra Limited in 2013. Up until this point, the car has been satisfactory. However, my car recently began making a ticking/knocking noise coming from underneath the hood. It became increasingly worse over the course of a couple days. After a few days, my car wouldn't even start. Apparently, many different people are experiencing the exact same issue, which is caused by a manufacturing defect with the engines that would require complete engine replacement. I cannot fathom how this is not a recall, since my car only just hit 102,000 miles. Hyundai is not willing to cover the repairs since the car is "passed warranty". I've read comments from other Hyundai owners who weren't even able to get it fixed when their car was under warranty. There is currently a class action lawsuit against Hyundai regarding this issue. Hyundai is claiming the owners are neglecting to take care of their cars, which I can tell you is not true. This is beyond frustrating and I hope that Hyundai's reputation is damaged because of their lack of responsibility on the issue.

This car definitely was a great deal. Additionally, Bill with the used car department, was a joy to work with. I great experience for my son with the purchase of his first car!

Car is in great condidtion for a 7 year old car. Interior is a bit plastic-y but the style its in is great. Car handles as youd expect from a compact car. Has alot of interior room for its size. Reliability is 4 stars only because i think a bearing is going out on a fan, and it squeaks.

This vehicle was just what we needed for the price and reliability!! We are very pleased with the selection and the amenities! Highly recommend to others!

For the price , and warranty that it came with you can?t beat this car and the MPG that it offers. Very reliable and comfortable to drive.

My first car and I loved it. Ample space for every person and lot of trunk space and high enough. very reliable and gives good mileage. Good value car for the money you spent.

Originally purchased as a reliable economic "transition" vehicle option. We expected to drive it 2 to 3 years max then upgrade. We have kept it 6 years now despite purchasing other family cars. 0 issues at 95000 miles..... enough said.....

Absolutely gorgeous nothing beats Hyundai. Also felt super safe in this vehicle love the sound for the speaker. The look of this vehicle is stunning!

The Car meets all my needs between work and modability in the future. The Active Eco mode isn't the best around for sure. While the all the seats are super comfortable leather simi bucket seats (for the GLS Limited) the back seats don't have much leg room although it is comfortable enough if you spread your legs. All the extra features it does have work amazing; such as heated seats. It would be nice if the blue tooth supported more than just sending and receiving calls.

Awesome little car. Easy and fun to drive. Very safe. Spacious trunk. Good on MPG in the city and in highway. Pretty cheap to maintain.
