Amazing Value for Performance Luxury Sedan
The Genesis 4.6 is one of the best values for a fast, reliable and luxurious sedan. It has plenty of power and has great fuel economy for its class. Amazing for freeway cruising and long trips. My only gripe is the suspension can get bouncy at times on rough roads.
Very good car
Great warranty great car, comfortable ,mileage is good, quality fit and finish is all you could ask for
Very comfortable
The genesis has been fantastic, I got every bell and whistle and it really is fantastically comfortable. I put about 4,000 miles on per month and maintain about 27 miles per gallon. The power is very smooth and the seats are wide and cooled seats are a godsend. Only 2 complaints. 1, the shocks need to be replaced at 90,000 miles. 2, the premium sound is a little bit tinny.
Bought new and drove for 170k miles
The cars has been a joy to drive with great acceleration and handling. The spacious interior and high quality finishes rival the luxury experience of Mercedes and BMW's larger models. Have had minor electrical issues and had to replace the fuel injector after 160k mikes. Biggest con is the proprietary interior dome light assembly. You can't just replace the bulb, rather the whole assembly has be replaced for $450.
2009 Genesis 3.8. Bought at 100k
So just bought this car in Dec. 16 with 100k on it. Was looking for a safe, solid vehicle that was reliable. Read reviews on the BMW 5 series but there was a lot of reliability issues. So far after driving for 2000 miles I will say the suspension is a bit harsh at times and I'm looking to install the 2013 suspension to help take some of the harshness out. However, get past this one issue and I have to say this car is wonderful to drive. On the highway is where this car excels, as it seems like it floats on class but still stays firmly planted. For a 6 cylinder it has plenty of punch. The transmission is right and smooth. Being RWD I did get an extra set of Genesis wheels and put some Nankang snow tires on it. You never feel a loss of control with this car, I'm thoroughly impressed that a car of this size and weight feels so connected to the road. The interior is also very nice. We don't have the Nav system which I hear it's probably a good thing. The seats may be a bit firm but they are comfortable. The leather seem to be a very good quality, heat controls are easy to use, heated seats work great, beautiful layout, and the Lexicon stereo has incredible symphony type sound that is crystal clear. Forget that the badge says Hyundai, this is one heck of a fantastic vehicle! I understand the 2012 thru 2014 is nicer with Bluetooth on the steering wheel and a bit better suspension. I also read that the new version 2015 forward is an even better riding vehicle. Thoroughly, thoroughly impressed with this car!
09 Genesis sedan
Recently bought the car, not bad for the price. Looks fantastic . Makes good power but is a little loud at high rpm's because it is still a Hyundai... But I like the xar
Not For luxury car owners
Hyundai expected to pick up luxury car buyers by introducing the Genesis. But it is not comparable to other luxury cars because Hyundai will not stand behind their product. I had several issues with the car and of the 8 I had in five years of ownership, they would only cover one item. They constantly found an excuse not to cover it under warranty. I went to the regional and corporate folks and was denied. I will never buy a Hyundai again and if you are luxury car buyer, stay away. The other luxury car makers stand behind their product and will fix things. Very very disappointed.
Great sports sedan
The navigation and bluetooth work great. We stream music from our phones to the infinity sound system and it sounds incredible! Did I mention Heated and COOLED seats...Do yourself a favor, stop reading and go buy one! You can thank me later. THE BEST Decision i ever made. Hazelwood Toyota
Awesome car
Purchased a loaded 2009 3.8 with 40M miles. Definitely the nicest car I've ever owned, but I've never really bought anything in the "luxury" category. As many have said the ride is somewhat stiff, but compared to what I'm used to it's no big deal. I love the Lexicon stereo aside from the Ipod interface. I've found it's easier to just run the ipod throught the headphone jack into the aux port rather than use the special Hyundai connector. Takes too long to find the songs you want... Can't really speak to the reliability yet, but based on others experiences I'm assuming it'll hold up well. Not many of these around my area, so even though they've been around for awhile now people have been asking what it is and how much they like the look of it.
Very Stiff Suspension
This car feels like I am driving a Jeep Wrangler. Bounces me all over the seat. No way to adjust. Be very careful when deciding. My test drive was around the dealership on very flat roads. Should have done more test driving. Love the car otherwise but will sell this one and get something else.
