Great Vehicle, Great Value

I've owned a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe for two years. It does great on long trips, excellent on gas and plenty of room for luggage. I've had no mechanical problems with it and it still looks super. It is a very solid SUV.

Best car ever. We traded in an MBZ S class

We bought the top of the line 2005 LX AWD with the big 3.5L V6 engine. This is a jewel of a car. We traded a $60,000 S class MBZ and this is better for our purposes. It compares favorably with our daughter's BMW X5. We drive it up to the mountains to ski in the winter and tow our boat in the summer. It's great! The lower grade model (GLS, 2.7L V6, 2WD) is very poor by comparison! Don't confuse them. The LX has all the luxury features and handles great in the snow on curves. It's very quiet and powerful and extremely reliable. We've had absolutely no problem at all. It rides like a large luxury sedan on the highway with plenty of passing power at high (90+) speed. This car is Korea's flagship vehicle and they were out to prove they're competitive with cars costing much more.

Not to sure about driving this vehicle on a long t

seems to be top heavy at times and the automatic transmission is erratic when up or down shifting sometimes during acceleration from a stop or during traffic driving. At times it seems the transmission is straining to shift gears and makes a indescribeable strange noise.
