Car's OK, service sucks
Rather large for it's class. More room in any of the direct competition. Not bad quality wise, but has problems with suspension and at around 100 000 km starts drinking oil. Factory alignment sucks, so my first set of tires (very low quality Kumho) lasted 25 000 km.

2011 Sonata loaded with turbo engine.
We are very satisfied with our 2011 Sonata. Great selection of auto options, good gas mileage and performance, roomy and comfortable. Most likely future auto purchases will be a Sonata also.

One of the best cars I ever owned
Although it had it's share of recalls all were addressed and taken care of. ie: engine blew at 64,000 was replaced NC warranty extended to 120,000 16+MPG city 30+MPG highway Only complaint drove like a sports car. I prefer a more luxurious ride.

Best car I ever owned!
Purchased from dealer as a certified used car. Always PERFORMED EXCELLENT! Cried when the engine blew at 65,000. No worries Hyundai had a recall so now it has a 120,000 warranty. In the process of selling it as our 88 year old aunt decided to give us her car. Gonna miss this one!

Several recall issues, but a solid car anyway.
I have 170,000 miles on mine, bought new, 2011 Limited 2.0T w/Nav. I've had to have the turbo waste gate adjusted twice, once under warranty, once on my dime. When the turbo died each time, the engine still ran, but like a dog, so at least I wasn't stranded. Less than $300 to fix. There are still several other recall issues, the big one was the engine (mine wasn't defective) but they extended the engine warranty to 120k miles. I drive over 80% highway miles, just over 100 miles per work day. Replaced brakes once around 130k, did the spark plug at the same time, just bought my 4th set of tires (no wear issues), on my 2nd battery. I have noticed it burns about a quart of oil every 3000 miles now (they say that is common for this engine), and I've noticed it doesn't quite have the power it used to have, but it is still strong. For 170k miles, I would expect this from any car. Turbo is still smooth, you can't really tell when it kicks in, there is no "jerk", it is just seamless. My combined (mainly highway) mileage varies: From 30-32 mpg when I run at 70 or lower, or the more common 28-30 mpg If I'm running 80+ on the interstate. This really hasn't changed from when it was new. This is easily 500 miles per tank. Gas fill light comes on at about 1.5 gallons left. I always use the cruise control, which helps. Very good highway car, smooth running but responsive, feels "bigger" than a mid-sized car, comfort-wise. Yes, it had a few quirks when new, but I would still buy it again. In a year or two, I want to find a 2011-2015 model with less than 100k miles and buy it.

GOING ON 13 RECALLS
It's a nice car but Hyundai really screwed us over with this one. Falling apart recall by recall. And they don't really care either. Stay clear of the 2011. If you complain too much to Hyundai - they sic the dealer on you with ads to UPGRADE. LMAO

Love the car, but do not love the recalls
The car itself/design is great, however due to the engine recall issues for this year model, 2011, have had more than normal repair costs after, ie 2 starter replacements and one alternator replacement before 100k miles. Was not notified of 3 major recall issues, power steering issue, seat belt and airbag even though Hyundai had my current content info because I received multiple notices for buy back offers. If I could afford a new one, I would purchase another Sonata in a heart beat.
