This cars quality was at the peak of crap, literally every single interior piece becomes fragile over time, old 70s 80s cars had better interior quality than this garbage, and on top of that the hood latch always goes bad and you will never be able to get it open to do repairs which this car is hard to work on and constantly needs work on, and dont get me started on the cupholder in the center, it is the most annoying thing and it keeps opening and popping up even by just looking at the cupholder, it will automatically pop up, due to a very very very very very badly designed latch. Honestly be humble and get a civic or a toyota, literally anything is better than this car, jaguar is known for hard to work on cars and always breal down, the obd2 port does not detect the computer and it doesnt allow me to scan the check engine light, the rearview mirror keeps falling off due to a 2 piece EZ mount that is worse than just using glue to stick it directly to windshield, the driver window actuator has gone the second day i got the car, the tire no longer holds air, the headliner is sagging on literally every single jaguar xj8, there is no jaguar xj8 that has a good or decent headliner where it is not sagging at all, and supposedly the car gets 28 or 30mpg on highway but its cap, its a lie, i only get 14.2mpg

There’s just something about it when you sit down and the leather seats adjust to your settings. I bought my 2000 Vanden Plas about a year and a half ago at 150k miles. After putting on 29k miles I am still in love with this car. The car is fast, but it’s so nice that you feel comfortable just enjoying a slow ride. Don’t be afraid of this car. I have made small repairs, alternator, plugs and coils, radiator, battery…. but nothing major. And with the availability of used OEM parts from national salvage networks and the support of the Jaguar community on the forums this car is an exceptional value at about 3k if you can find one. I’m buying a 2001 XJ this week…just a wonderful driving experience.

This is my second XJ8, 1st XJ8 is a 1998 I still have it , I bought it 12 years ago used. I drive it everyday, I have 204,000 miles on it. I loved it so much I bought another, it is a 2000 XJ8L with 36,000 miles on it .Its beautiful, I suspect it will be with me for years to come. Love the XJ8

I've owned a XJ8 2000 for a number of years. I had to put new starter coils on both side. Just put a alternator and new battery. The car is 22years old. I love it, can't part with it.

I have had 2 xj’s 1996 and 2000 (van den plas 2000). Best cars I have ever driven and love. Also owned a 1992 xjs what a beauty (12) cylinder But never again. Gorgeous body great speed but total gas leaker and any engine problems with engine take out your credit card… The engine has to be lifted for any engine repairs!!! Love me some xj8 van den plas😁😁😁

Bought a 2000 xj8L 2 years ago and after figuring out some of the Electronics, I love it. Very stylish, the L in xj8L. Gives you an extra 6-8 “ of legroom in the back seat. It’s definitely a Head Turner and I love Every Bit of it

This car was built in '99 ....It takes an obscene amount of money to maintain a car this old ....But I'll keep on doing it ...I really like this car better than other luxury cars I have owned

Owning this Jag XJ8, v8, 4cyl, has been by far the best value for my money. I am the second owner of this car and it has been well taken care off. It is solidly built, quiet, and super smooth. It's just the right size, has very comfortable seats and last year put a new rebuilt transmission, new valve cover gasket, newer Michelin tires, brand new battery, brand new oxygen sensors. I bought it in 2008 and it has been very reliable. For Jag-lovers, this is a steal! This cat runs super smooth and fast.

I love the styling. The color is what belongs on this car (British Racing Green on a Jaguar). It runs perfectly and I feel good driving it.
