Nothing is competing with the Trailhawk

Its as simple as that. No crossover or "CUV" is available in the market today to compete with the blend of versatility and practicality of this vehicle. Save for personal preferences in newer features and the lack of a larger gas tank to accompany the 3.2 liter V6 engine, this is the most well constucted crossover for everyday commute with the regular venture to mother nature's best. This is in contrast to the 2016 Subaru Forester we own, which is a great every day commuter with AWD capability but is simply best left on pavement and not designed to endure the terrain mastered by the Jeep. Awesome buy.

Gotta Go Jeep!

Love my new Jeep upgrades, had a Cherokee '01! What a difference, this is fantastic. It was hard to trade in my '01, but now I am glad that I did. I like the touch screen, and the ability to use the hands free phone. Also, it is so roomy inside.

And the Race to the Bottom Continues...

This car has been a huge disappointment, and in my opinion is a textbook illustration of the disintegration of a great American Brand. My 1996 Grand Cherokee, which I purchased used with 46,000 miles on it, ran beautifully for 150,000 miles with no major incidents or expensive repairs; and when I traded it in in 2006, it had over 220,000 miles on it. I never had any engine or drive train breakdowns, and the Chrysler dealership gave me $1500.00 trade-in allowance! Unheard of for a vehicle with that much mileage at that age. Fast-forward to 2016; I purchased a brand new Jeep Cherokee Latitude. Great for about the first 10,000 miles, then the nightmares began. For starters, at speeds north of 45, applying the breaks causes the entire front end to shudder as if the wheels were about to fall off. The dealership has no explanation for this. The car is too light to be called a Jeep Cherokee; so light, in fact, that at a standstill, when the windshield wipers are operating at high speed, you can actually feel the car rock from side to side along with the wipers. During last winter's snow storms, the 4-wheel-drive was practically useless to get the car moving. My '96 could drive right out of a snow drift up to a foot or so high without so much as a sideways tic; not so with the lazy lightweight Latitude - I actually had to shovel a curved pathway in front of all 4 tires to get the vehicle out of its snowy parking place. DUH. 4-whell drive? Really? At 54,000 miles, the engine started misfiring due to a bad ignition coil - a $900.00 dollar repair bill along with another $600.00 and change worth of "maintenance" to the transmission and drive train which is of course, not covered on the transmission and drive train guarantee. Lousy value for the price; this vehicle was obviously meant to be a stepped-down version of the typical Grand Cherokee - but it pales in comparison in all but price - very, very disappointing.

Most reliable SUV I've owned

Three years owned it and aside from oil changes, no money was stuck into it. Liked it so much, we decided to lease a 2019 Cherokee. In the past owned 2 Lexus, Chevy SUV's and the Jeep was ahead of them. EXCEPT for the leg room in the back seat.

Easy to Drive

The V6 provides plenty of power still averaging 18mpg in the city. The auto idle shutdown takes a little getting used to at stoplights and I have had to watch my head getting in and out due to the angle on the A pillar, but drives great, real smooth and responsive.

Dodge Charger never gave me any problems

Great in the snow, and plenty of leg room. The gas mileage is not bad either. I love the ride and the mid size that can squeeze in any parking place.

Great purchase

We found exactly what we were looking for as this vehicle satisfies all my needs. Very comfortable and performance is good for the 4cyl. Very driver friendly. My family is tall, 6'4" and 6'6" and we both fit very comfortably in this vehicle with room to spare in the back seats.

Bad transmission, problems with electronics

Well, Jeep Cherokee has various transmission problems and that would be ok only if they ever were able the grow out of those problems. First reviews in 2014 were talking about those problems. Four years later, problems are still there. My 2016 Jeep certainly caught those problems. So, pay attention, Jeep is not only about getting less reliable car, which might be ok given its price, but it is about bad manfucturer, bad delarships, that just don't address your problems, properly and timely. If you have V6, expect neverending Start/Stop electronics problems that again, last for years. One or quite irrelevant problems, that best describe who Jeep is, was the door rubber that all peeled of within a month of ownership. Guess they don't fix manufacturing defects as after all nobody is getting fired for that - government will bail them out eventually. Don't buy from people whose job doesn't depend on their products selling good.
