Solid choice in the mid sized truck market

We eagerly anticipated the release of the Gladiator back when it was just a whisper of a rumor of a concept. We were going to buy one unless it was just hideous. This ticked all the boxes for us. Classic Jeep styling, capability, and towing/ cargo ratings. We've been a Jeep family for a while, and this just made sense for us. Towing capacity is up there if you get the heavy duty towing package, and the payload is perfect for its size. In mixed mountain driving, we get about 18 to 20mpg, which is amazing for a truck around here. On a recent trip, we got 23, which was impressive for its gearing and power. Road manners are Jeep like, and if you're considering a Jeep, you've probably already accepted that. That being said, it feels very stable and sure footed in corners, thanks to the 5 link suspension. Interior is well laid out, and fairly roomy for a Jeep. Headroom suffers however due to the roll bar placement, and an extra inch or so of roof height would be a welcome addition for really tall drivers. We got the mid range head unit for the stereo, but got the upgraded alpine speaker and amp system, which is amazing. All in all, a great package that looks good, drives good, and hopefully will give many years of good service.

This is a unique Crossover

So I had a big diesel chevy that could not even fit in my garage. It was great to have a truck but it was a truck, the new gladiator by Jeep is a unique crossover, it has all the cool factors of a wrangler but it also has a bed to haul stuff. I plan on putting a plow on it for the winter and even with that on I will still be able to garage it. I have a rubicon that I love and now with the Gladiator I feel I have an option to go wild off road with the tops and doors off or haul load of mulch in the same vehicle. Nice job Jeep! I do hope Mopar come out with some options for it , very limited right now but I'm sure its just a matter of time. I AM NOT SURE OF ITS RELIABILITY BECAUSE IT HAS 160Miles on it but I hope it will be great

Fun to Drive

Has all the qualities of a Jeep but is a truck that I can use as a truck. The longer wheelbase also gives it a better ride.

Love it with the truck backend

Great mileage and very comfortable. Does well in the mountains and the shifting is easy. Took company with us and they were really impressed. Everyone keeps saying they couldn't wait to see it in person. We get lots of people looking at it. They like it too.

We Love This New Truck.

Passenger compartment a bit snug but everything beautifully fits, including two adults in the front seats. Handles beautifully, of course it’s sporty like any Jeep but less “pitchy” than it’s half-brother Wrangler. Onboard systems and Apple CarPlay syncs quickly and easily to run our apps for everything, very quick and smooth with a great result. We are towing a big pontoon boat with no sweat, shifting to 4L on the slimy boat ramp then quickly into 2H for the ride home. The rear camera allows me to single-hand onto the hitch, everything easier now. Very good fit & finish, everything works flawlessly. We’re very pleased with the Gladiator Sport S.

Very quiet and handles great, not your Grandfather

Absolutely love, was taken back by how quiet and comfortable it is. Nobody is going to get this away from me. Get compliments ever where we go. It is a real hit.

If you can afford it, go for it

I felt that the Gladiator was a great ride. It had a lot of acceleration and strangely felt lighter than the Sahara Unlimited with the same engine size. That said, I agree with the professional reviewers, that as an unlimited it is a huge improvement, but as a truck, you can do better. The bed is shallow and pretty short. Although the Overland that I test drove did come with a hitch, all the bells in whistles were really on the inside and not the outside. There was no retractable cover, and the new owner would have to spray the bed with a Rhino-liner or Line-X. I honestly think that for 50K, one of those two things could have been included. That just shows though that Jeep is going to command top dollar as this was one of the most anticipated Jeep releases in a long time. As a recreational truck, or for light hauling it would be fine, but it is not a serious work truck and gas mileage is awful. If they ever come out with a diesel version, then it would be more worth the money.

Great Truck

I like the size not as wide as the larger truck but still has the length for leg room in the back and nice size truck bed. I had a 2012 jeep wrangler i really like the improvement to the interior.

Awesome vehicle

Had an issue with the starter at first. Ended up being a fuel filter problem I guess. Then rock hit my windshield and there are no windshield in stock?? I guess buying this new a model, might have a couple problems like that. Other than that everything is great!
