Best Jeep Model on the Market
I think you get the most bang for your buck with a jeep grand cherokee. Wranglers are to overrated and cost too much. I've owned a fully built and modified Jeep Wrangler Sahara that cost $65000 but my old 2005 cherokee performed much better, was much more smoother, more gas friendly, and a fraction of the price!

Not very impressed
I wanted to buy 2005 Grand Cherokee on pvt sale at 180K but it started shaking at 60miles and huge modified wheels that caused the car to swerve to my right. Body bit rusty and going for $2500 . No other visible defects or amy issues on car history. Is it worth buying or a dead deal?

3.7L is okay as long as you change oil sooner
I bought the car in 2008 and still own it. Currently it is 11/2017 and the 2005 jeep has 123,500 miles. The only issue is that the block gets so hot that it fries the oil. You have to change the oil as soon as every 2000 miles as to not gunk up the engine block, causing the engine to grenade.. I change mine every 1500 miles and it runs great. I live in southern Ohio and this SUV easily gets 16mpg in the city and as much as 24 mpg on the highway. In the time I've owned it I've had to replace the blower motor, the front CV axles and upper control arms. I've gone through 2sets of tires. The only thing that bothers me is the fabric used for the cloth seats. Water droplets can create stains on the seats. I shampoo my seats once a year and have seat covers on them always.

Performed well but interior was cramped
Test drove this vehicle with intentions of purchasing it. Drove very well, power and handling was very appealing to me. Being a tall guy I felt very cramped and uncomfortable inside the cabin. Leg room was tight between the seats and dash, and the head room hustler wasn't there.

Perfect compromise to the new G. Cherokee
I've owned this 2005 jeep grand Cherokee since 2008, i have never been so happy with a vehicle. The 4WD Works great in the ohio winters, cold temperatures, the jeep fires up like a champ and heat up inside the cabin quickly. I enjoy the adjustable pedals and the 6 disk changer. The privacy glass makes it much easier to have a cooler car in the summer. I have the cloth interior which is great but be sure to invest in seat covers or a waterproof protective treatment. Rain drops will leave what look like stains on the cloth. The seats are comfortable, they resemble bucket seats without so much contour. The downside is after 12 hours of non stop driving the seats become cumbersome because of how hard they are. As for performance, the 3.7l could use a little more umph to get you on the highway. Once on the highway the gas mileage is great for this size vehicle. I get 20mpg which is great for a v6 4000lb SUV with 4wd. Passing gear works great and doesn't kill your gas mileage as it would on some v8 motors.
