Pretty good to drive, awful reliability.
This is my first car and I really loved it because of it's styling. I think it looks rugged and I liked it far more than the current generation's styling. However, the reliability has been horrible. While I didn't purchase this vehicle new and cannot comment on how the previous owner drove it, I've had awful mechanical issues. I have sunk over $5000 into the car (probably more than I could get out of it) over the last few years and at this point I'm ready to get something much more reliable and new.

Great fun and great value.
After a few hiccups after the purchase, everything has been smooth sailing. Bought my 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee used from a dealer and it promptly blew it's main computer. Once this was resolved, it has been trouble free. If you're considering purchasing a Jeep, there are a few things to keep in mind. Jeeps tend to have quirks/character traits that generally don't effect the operation of the vehicle, so be prepared to bond with your Grand Cherokee. The space inside for people is not enormous, but on the flip side, the seats themselves are very comfortable, especially when paired with heaters. For such a heavy vehicle, it drives like a smaller car. The steering is light and accurate and the turning circle is amazingly tight making parking a breeze. Gas mileage is something that is not an outstanding quality, however, the bottomless grunt doled out by the HEMI is well worth the trade off at the pump. I've never owned a four wheel drive vehicle before that would squawk all four wheels with a full throttle launch, very fun. Then there's the party piece of the QuadraDrive II. Nearly bullet proof and able to scale the side of a building, it instills confidence and security in al already sturdy vehicle. Would definitely recommend a Jeep Grand Cherokee, even with the initial warts, for anyone looking for a safe and entertaining four wheel drive, with a bit of character thrown in for fun.

The jeep grand cherokee had a lot of room, was great for our weekends we spend outdoors, however it rode rough, interior was pretty ugly and was not reliable.

Can be easily driven to 200k miles
The 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee is a rugged SUV that's comfortable and reliable. The Pentastar V6 has plenty of power, and the 5 speed transmission with selectable gering makes getting onto the highway a breeze. The optional HEMI and Limited trim gives the Grand Cherokee best in class towing, horsepower and 4 wheel drive capability.
