2011 Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4
I test drove the Lexus RX400 h 2010 @ $38k, was more than I wanted spend for a SUV. I own a 19'Boat @ 3,000# weight requires a tow capacity of 5,000# Lexus RX has a 3,500# tow capacity is not capable to safely launch & retrieve my 3,000#Boat. The Pentastar 290 hp V6 has more power than the Lexus RX 270 hp & fuel economy is same as RX. Lexus RX ride is too soft & handling numb for sport driving & no off road capability with AWD. Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo V6 4x4 2011 at $24k is a great value for a fully capable SUV. Options for leather,Navigation, ect. not needed for my SUV & saved $5K Very happy with my 4th Jeep Cherokee !!!

2011 jeep gc overland
Awesome SUV, I would highly recommend the new Jeep GC. Inside and out this is a great vehicle. I would buy two if I had the money. My only one complaint, and it is a small one...more gears for the transmission. The V8 has nice power. I really like all the extras in the Overland. Jeep has definitely stepped up to compete with other SUV's.

car owner
The most uncomfortable seats of any car I have owned. Blind spots .....overhead consule blocks the top 1" of the rearview mirror, no front door post grab bar, speedomter blocked from steering wheel, advanced radio anything but user friendly...Worst trade in value of any car previously owned. Very disappointing vehicle.

Great SUV, but has a design flaw
I have been a Jeep Grand Cherokee driver for many years. I recently purchased a 2011 JGC and I didn't notice this on the day that I purchased the car. When you are seated in the drivers seat the post and mirrors are so wide they block traffic on the left side at intersections. In the four months that I have had this car I have come really close to getting another vehicle or a pedestrian. Today it finally happened when I was turning at an intersection and got the bumper of another vehicle. I put a nice crease down the side of my JGC. This might be fine if you are a taller individual but it doens't work well for someone of a smaller stature.

Great SUV
I bought this used after it was a rental for a rental company. It is really nice and I only have a few misgivings about it. It is quite larger than my older JGC. Bigger wheels mean higher expense for new tires. It does handle well though sort of lumbars through turns. The 6 cyl pentastar engine has lots of power. the ride is VERY smooth. I haven't taken it in the field yet so I can't comment about that. I haven't been in deep snow yet either so the Quadrotrac I is yet to be observed by me. The folding seats work great. The rest is simply boringly acceptable. The drivers seat and view of gauges is problematic. Unless you are about 6'1" and 250 pounds you are going to roll around in the seat as it does not fit smaller bodies. The steering wheel blocks the MPH unless you set it to a very uncomfortable high position. I am deeply disappointed they did not put 4 wheel low on the base Laredo like they used to. All in all a very well made car with great style and performance. The price seems to high for the limited number of base options it gives you. I would expect more.

Comfortable on road, not for hardcore offroading
I reside in Dubai, UAE and purchased this vehicle after reading reviews and watching several adverts about how the car performs well off-road. The truth - it cannot do well on major sand dunes. Around 10+ of these have had damaged radiator/condenser units after being driven offroad because of sudden jumps. Even the Overland model has had bad luck here. Thru insurance i got my radiator replaced, but weeks later overheating problems occured for which Jeep/Chrysler could not figure out why - so they changed the whole engine under warranty! Still didnt fix the issue! Later found that the coolant compartment was leaking! Apparently after replacing the engine, the service center technicians did not fix the coolant hoses correctly, as a result of which my engine temperature gauge would show 2 bars below "H". The coolant temperature under System information on the Dashboard system would show 112-115 degrees celsius which is very high. Extremely poor reliability (in terms of off-roading) of this vehicle. Jeep UAE admits it shamelessly. You are better off with a Wrangler. Overall, great audio system in the Laredo model, great dashboard look, great on-road handling. Comfy seats. As long as this car is on road, it's the best ride ever. Steering wheel is a bit hard to turn, but thats done so as to improve stability at high speeds. Suggested Improvements:- The Radiator/Condenser unit has been placed just behind the front bumper, exposing it to the ground, such that during offroading if the car were to jump and hit the ground, this would damage the condenser. The ride height of this vehicle is extremely low and the clearance not good enough. This is the major problem on this vehicle. Jeep UAE has asked Jeep USA as to why this has been built like this, and apparently this would only be fixed in the next model release!!

Best Car
We bought our Overland on the 31st of May 2011. I have always loved the look of the Cherokee and we could not be happier. However, the only complaint I have is that the front driver's seat is leather and worn out to the point that holes have appeared. I only have 6,000 miles on the Jeep and find this flaw unacceptable. I have notified the dealer and they are going to look to see what can be done. We paid cash for the vehicle and have never heard of this before. Hopefully we will be satisfied with the results.
