Safest car I have owned.
Great car on the road and great in the snow. It is also supper comfortable and can fit a lot of people in the car.

A Youngin's First Car
I bought this car with 56k miles on it at $8k. I've had it for a couple months now, enough to get to know it. Maintenance- I haven't had any issues with the transmission, drivetrain or anything essential to the performance of the car as its been babied its entire life thus far. The only issues I have had are a p0456 code (which turned out to be a faulty gas cap) and a very small hole in the muffler. Then again, this is nitpicking. Styling- As this is a sport edition, the styling is very basic and its plastic city inside and out. However, the plastic doesn't feel cheap and is very solid and easy to take care of. Its got some styling borrowed from the well loved jeep wrangler on the grill. The doors are short, making it very easy to get in and out of tight parking spaces, although the door latches on the inside are quite unorthodox. The rear hatch opens in two parts, which is extremely convenient for loading both heavy and light loads into the rear. Feel- Every shift of the transfer case and drive selector is solid and is very satisfying to use. The feedback on the steering wheel is fantastic but not overwhelming. There's a lot of body roll in turns(surprise, it's an suv), but not a lot when accelerating or decelerating. Both the brake and accelerator pedal are quite linear. The rear seats fold flat but anchors on the side of the car to secure the seats to their normal position do jut out. Its got a healthy amount of room in the back for a family of four to go on vacation for a few days. Performance- Sport? Please. While its not a fast jeep, it will get up and going and will go up to redline with a healthy roar if you do please. However, spinning the back tires is quite easy from a stop, so be aware. Audio- The jeep comes with a standard radio with am/fm/cd selector, equalizer, and 10 station memory. No audio jack is included. The speakers sound alright and have their moments, but they're in the middle of the road for sound quality. 6 speakers(4 midrange drivers/woofers and 2 tweeters). Ride quality- This is a jeep. This isn't much of a comfort vehicle. It's going to go over bumps harder than a regular suv. However, in my opinion, the seats make up for it. They're firm(I need lumbar support) yet comfortable to sit in for long periods of time. Final thoughts- This is a fantastic first vehicle for a teen, especially for budding Jeep enthusiasts. The aftermarket, while not as busy as Wrangler's, is still an excellent source for parts. It's not fast, but it is a fun SUV nonetheless. It can haul kids, bags of sand(or whatever else you put in the back of your car), and can be used as a casual enthusiant's fun vehicle. It's multifaceted and has a timeless design(especially with that rear wheel). I'm disappointed that chrysler decided to end the liberty. It's a great mini-suv. Ok, hope that covered everything.

Very dependable well pleased
Still looks good with 125K on it ,normal maintenance problems at normal mileage intervals like any other vehicle. Can't find anything I like as well so guess I'll keep driving it. Bought new and preformed all maintenance on complete vehicle when needed according to owners manual. You can't just change oil and think you did required service, all fluids must be changed when indicated in the manual and that doesn't mean topping up or checking( it means change it). When you buy used you get used along with someone else's laziness when it comes to needed repairs and maintenance. I know these liberty 3.7 engines have some issues, but 3000 mile oil changes seem to either delay them or hopefully eliminate them.

Still looks new at 12 years
This is still an attractive car at 12 years and 145K miles. When you really, really have to go offroad or over an obstacle, you will appreciate it. Have had almost no serious maintenance issues outside of tires and brakes. The thing that greatly improved the ride and the noise was switching from the OEM tire to a good quality road tire. I did this at 60K and since then, driving the Liberty is like driving on a glass surface. Which is good because the suspension is hard on the ribs. Only two complaints - the glove box will hold a pair of gloves and that's about it. And the window control switch is on the center console while the door locks are on the doors. This has been a great car for us and we have driven it back and forth across the USA several times. Still looks great!

Rugged small suv
Drove this rig for 10 years and 150,000 miles through every terrain one can imagine. Handles well in snow, mud, rain, sand, rocks, etc. yet handles comfortably at 85+mph on the freeway. Interior materials hold up very well and very low maintenance / repairs. Only downside is small interior and poor fuel economy (15-16 mpg)

Best Car Purchase
I recently purchased a 2005 Jeep Liberty with 98, 200 on it. I wanted something with AWD & something that can get me to & from work. I love my truck so far. The car dealership I went to were very nice & accommodating. So far so good :) I love my Jeep Liberty!

Great at first
The jeep was great at first but after having it for 6 months everything went wrong we had to replace transfer case and transmission. I have had it for almost 3 years now and I am ready for it to go we keep having problems with the transmission it is not a family car that's for sure it is very uncomfortable. To me its more of a car for a teenager that doesn't need a lot of room in a suv as long as it is in good shape.

2nd Jeep
I recently bought a 2005 Jeep Liberty Renegade with 81,000 miles on it. I chose the Renegade because I do not like the front end on the Liberty Sport. The hood bulges up and over the headlights as where the Renegade has a more clean look. Anyhow, I used to own a 2006 Chrysler Sebring so the factory radio that is in the Liberty was easy to get used to. I do agree, the Liberty COULD stand to be a bit more comfortable, and the interior is a bit boring. As of right now, I love my Jeep Liberty!!

63K
After faithfully doing scheduled maintenance, oil changes, etc., etc. the engine suffered a catastrophic failure--likely a bearing or a broken bolt, or some part of the block--at 63K miles. Jeep is unconcerned and is offering no compensation. The engine has to be either rebuilt or replaced.

The little SUV that could
First, to all thos out there who rate this vehicle poorly after purchasing one used I have one thing to say. People dont often sell their cars to dealers unless there is something wrong with them. So shame on you for not doing your due diligence and checking the cars out stem to stern before laying down the cash. To me, this truck is amazing. I too bought it used and it had a few problems, but repairing it was a dream. Parts were inexpensive and they were very easy to swap out. This little SUV is quick, agile, can haul a ton, handles the beach with aplomb. 4wd is amazingly capable in stock mode and when you upgrade it it is even more so. My only issue with the car is the sparse interior. Its kind of boring and a bit uncomfortable but hey, its a Jeep. If I wanted comfort over capability, I would have bought a Grand Cherokee. And in true to Jeep form, you cant kill these things. Mine has 175K miles and I have seen them with 250K plus still running and looking great. Take care of it and it will take care of you.
