Fun, Peppy SUV

I've had my Renegade for about a month, and I'm loving it so far. Great handling, fun to drive, peppy and very comfortable. Love that I was able to get a manual transmission. There are some odd things that happen with the UConnect radio that I'd like to have looked at (music randomly dims; some settings reset themselves). Overall though, I think it's a great car for the price. Can't wait to drive it in the snow this winter!

Fun and great value

Roomy cabin, nice style. Has a real "Jeep" feel to drive. Very capable off road. Could use a bit more power and less shifty transmission

Enjoying my new Renegade

At first, I was looking for a smaller SUV, and wasn't sure where to look. More & more car companies are coming out with a vehicle to fit into the sub-compact SUV market. The first thing that caught my eye of the Renegade was the exterior styling. Yes, it may be a little box-shaped, but liked that ...it helps it stand out from some of its fellow vehicles in the market. Continuing to do more research, I appreciate it's ability to function well in-city and to be able to handle terrain off-road as well. I finally test drove one and I was sold ...it may not have the pick-up of a large SUV, but for a sub-compact SUV it feels quite spacious. The additional headroom, thanks to the box-style design, makes the vehicle feel much larger than it is, all the while being able to whip around the city and squeeze into smaller parking spaces. I have the Limited edition, so the additional bells & whistles just make my ride all the more enjoyable! If you're debating a sub-compact SUV, I encourage you to check out the Renegade.

Renegade grows on you

Before researhing the Jeep Renegade, I kind of scoffed at it being a 'toy' Jeep. However I looked into it and found reviews that touted its off-road ability compared to most small SUVs. I did not get a four-wheel version, and I skipped the automatic transmission, which many reviewed criticized. The six-speed standard transmission give it a sporty feel and makes it fun to drive, although having a six speed took some getting used to. It will cruise along in fourth or fifth gear at highway speed, and you have to look at the tach to realize you need to upshift. Because of that, at first I was only getting about 23 mpg overall, but learning to use the tranny better has me up to about 26 in mixed driving. I haven't really tested it on a long highway trip yet. It has some really nice touches in the interior. I got the typical three-knob heating and air conditioning control, and it is well designed so you can adjust it by feel without taking your eyes off the road. The automatic parking brake is also a nice feature, and may something that should be standard on every car. There have been a few small issues, such as an check engine light that came on during the first couple of months, the dealership was supposed to order a part but I never heard from them and the light stopped coming on. The driver's door lock does not work automatically, which I think is a programming problem. It hasn't been annoying enought to take it in to have it fixed, however. The longer I drive it the easier it is to like.

Eye Catcher SUV

Love this Jeep as far as the interior extras. Adjustable seats have memory form making the ride comfortable for any size driver. Back folds down for lots of room to carry big items. Windshield wipers adjust to the rain, Bluetooth is clear. Only drawback is the 9 gears which makes for more road noise when accelerating.

New owner ...and loving it!

I was looking to get a slightly larger vehicle that my 2 door coupe and the Jeep Renegade fit the bill! I test drove a few and made my decision recently to purchase a used 2016 Jeep Renegade Latitude. I haven't had it long, but so far I am loving it! It's the right amount of space to get around the city, while still spacious and comfortable enough for longer trips. While it doesn't have a sunroof, it has just about any other feature you'd want: blue tooth connectivity, leather, heated seats, heated steering wheel, heated mirrors. back-up cam, and more! The ride is nice and I enjoy how large the vehicle feels while sitting in it ...I don't feel as though I'm driving a sub-compact SUV.
