Fun

We bought a manual transmission Wrangler Unlimited Sahara model. It is definitely a fun car, but the back seat is extremely uncomfortable. Would be nice if the back seat reclined at least just a little. It is extreme straight up and down. It is very difficult to parallel park with the spare tire in the back. A backup camera would be extremely helpful and be a great safety feature. The front seats are very comfortable, and steering is easy. Waiting to see if the manual transmission breaks in a little and becomes less clunky. All in all it's a fair car...when you purchase you have to realize you are buying more of an icon rather than practically, unless you are going through big puddles.

Wrangler that Gives Life

Whenever you were thinking about giving up on life, you bought a Wrangler and that quickly changed. My Wrangler gave me new life and new fun I never got from any other car. Any trip, any drive, my Wrangler does it all. People love it, I love it, it's amazing. I recommend 100%

I'm a Jeep guy and it's a Rubicon Hard Rock

I haven't been without a Jeep Wrangler since 2002 and this is my 3rd consecutive Wrangler Unlimited...but this just happens to be the "Cat Daddy..." the Rubicon Hard Rock. What can I say...it checks all my boxes!

2016 Jeep Wranger Rubicon Hard Rock

Excellent fun vehicle with more options than ever and powerful engine. Locking front and back differentials are great with 4:10 ratio give you enough for some larger tires without having to regear.

Jeep Delivers - but getting too pricey

As my third Wrangler, the JKU Rubicon is by far the most comfortable and powerful Jeep I've owned. Compared to other Wranglers, having the four doors and rear seats with head supports was an absolute safety necessity to use this as a family vehicle (both on and off-road). However, those very improvements to making the vehicle more family accessible made it rather large and cumbersome by comparison to the smaller, lighter, and more nimble TJ. Additionally, the turn towards entirely electronic control such as the drive-by-wire throttle and other CAN bus controlled features takes away from the Wrangler's "do it yourself" maintenance and trail side repairability. The fact that Jeep has failed twice to put it's diesel engine into the Wrangler is a slap in the face to all Wrangler owners. They failed first by putting the 2.8L CRD only into the Liberty. They failed again putting the 3.0L eco-diesel only into the Grand Cherokee. In a prior Jeep, I transplanted my own diesel into the Wrangler and the vehicle is fully capable of 30mpg. It's insulting for the manufacturer to keep that kind of efficiency and torque from such a loyal customer base of 60+ years - opting only to put it into a vehicle as a high end, pricey option. Speaking of pricey options, the Wrangler is overpriced now. In the last edition, an SE model could be purchased for $14K. It is rather ridiculous that Jeep tends to mostly create the vehicle catering to a luxury ride - GPS navigation, sound systems, etc. such that add-ons create a $45K vehicle that is not much functionally different than it's predecessors. Understandably the Pentastar engine is an improvement - but it's not a $30K improvement. As mentioned before, the diesel engine Jeep won't offer to its Wrangler customers is an improvement worth paying for and that does not cost that much. Those negatives aside, the Wrangler maintains its iconic styling, its go-anywhere capability, and did improve its performance over prior models. Creature comforts have definitely improved but those do not justify the enormous increase in Wrangler pricing. The reliability of the electronics over the long haul remains to be seen, but the ability for the home mechanic to handle anything is diminished. It's still a vehicle worth owning - but the manufacturer is squeezing its loyal customers in a dissatisfying manner.

Best Off Road vehicle

This is my first Jeep and truly enjoy it. The design is timeless. The gas mileage is my only real complaint but I didn't purchase it for it to be a Prius. I wanted a off road capable vehicle that was easy on the highways. You purchase more than just a vehicle with a Jeep, you come a part of a large culture in the Jeep Wave community.

First Time Wrangler Owner

Owned it for a week, headed to the beach tomorrow. I love how capable the Rubicon is out of the factory.
