2011 Kia Sorento consumer reviews

The only negative I can find with the car is the interior seems to stain some and needing detailing more than other cars I have owned. This car is very highly rated for year and model type.

Loved this car and now I am older I bought a 2017 Sportage. My daughters both own KIA Optimas a 2011 and a 2014

I've owned my Sorento for 6 years and 65k miles with no huge issues. It's been reasonably comfortable on long trips and has okay pick up. The only issues I've had is the button for the gas tank stopped working, the driver window has become sticky, and a leak in one of my air conditioning hoses. Aside from that it's been great. I'd recommend this car to someone if they wanted a decent size SUV without shelling out lots of cash. One issue I have found that is frustrating, but cosmetic, is a discoloration of the seats. If liquid is spilled on the seats a brown liquid seeps through forcing you to blot the seats dry until it stops. I don't know if it's some sort of chemical in the padding or a scotch guard type thing in the fabric but it is frustrating, especially on light grey seats. Not a bad car!

I really like my 2011 Sorrento. But the GPS leaves a lot to be desired. I continuously have problems with the blue tooth for my phone. I purchased the latest update available recently as they advertised improved blue tooth amongst other improvements. Actually my system is worse. it recently took me on a route that was 45 minutes longer then my Garmin had taken me one week before. When I contacted mapnsot, they got me to provide a lot of info, which helped them, but they did not offer me anything to help with my problems. They did suggest that I could put in a route and that would help. But I thought the whole purpose of a GOS system was to provide a good route. I would not purchase another vehicle with this GPS/blut tooth system.

My 2011 Sorento drives like a truck. Fuel economy is not that good. Now I am having consistent issues with head lights burning out every few months. Not a car I would buy again.

Overall it was a good deal for a clean car, not too much miles, complete leather interior, navigation, satellite radio, chrome wheels, automatic AC, 3rd row, backup camera and rear parking sensors. The vehicle is still almost 5 years old, so if you look up close you can see minor paint defect, radio is slow to respond sometimes, cargo lamp had issue but that was still under manufacturer warranty, and the license plate lamp seems to have melted the whole light housing. Kia technician said it was because previous owner put the wrong bulb. How stupid is that. Anyway, always look at all the details on a car before making a decision, because the dealer won't tell you everything.

I PURCHASE THIS PREOWNED VEHICLE IN 2011. ALTHOUGH I WAS QUITE HAPPY AT FIRST, I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET THE FRONT STRUTS ANS REAR SHOCKS REPLACED ON MY 2011 SORENTO SINCE 2013, BUT I AM TOLD THERE IS NO REPLACEMENT PARTS AVAILABLE IN NORTH AMERICA AND NO KNOWN ETA...ARE YOU KIDDING!!! GO AFTERMARKET RIGHT...NONE AVAILABLE EITHER. LOOKING AT JUNK YARDS NOW TRYING TO GET PARTS....CAN YOU BELEIVE THAT, FOR SUCH A NEW KIA ALSO, RUST IS FORMING UNDER THE PAINT ON TOP OF FRONT WINDSHIELD. I EXPECTED MORE! THE VEHICLE IS VIRTUALLY UNDRIVABLE UNLESS YOU DRIVE VERY SLOW AND AVOID ALL THE BUMPS ON THE ROAD. WHAT AM I DO TO? CANT SELL IT AND WE ALL KNOW TRADING IN A CAR THIS YOUNG, YOU'RE GONNA TAKE A BEATING, DESPITE IT BEING PAID OFF, I RATHER REPLACE THE PARTS AND KEEP IT FOR A FEW MORE YEAR TO GET MY MONEY OUT OF IT. BUYER BEWARE...KIA IS NOT HELPFULL... WISH THEY SPEND A LITTLE LESS ON ADVERTISING AND A LITTLE MORE ON REPLACEMENT PARTS.

I got my Sorento, from Wagner Kia of Shrewsbury in MA. I have to say, the staff was great. Carol Tule is the best. She helped me aquire the SUV I was looking for, the color, AWD (what I needed), the price I needed to fit my budget, low % rate, just awesome. I have the 2011 Kia Sorento (Used), great condition looked almost new, very spacious, drives very smooth, great MPG. I have only had it for about a week now, but, so far My family and I Luv it. Anyone looking for a new or used car in MA check out Wagner Kia of Shrewsbury (carol Tule) very nice and helpful staff.

The original tires on the 2011 EX are TERRIBLE in the snow! No traction. Fine on dry or wet roads but if it is at all slippery, forget it. Give them a year and then replace them or you're likely to end up in a ditch. Otherwise, it's a great car.
