Too many issues

Too many problems. I am waiting to hear back on the hydraulics electric control unit. I have a letter from Nov. 14,2023. I was told I would receive another letter when the remedy part is available.

Best car I've ever owned!

I own a 2011 EX V6. I bought it with 61,000 miles on it in March 2021. I have just at 111,000 miles on it now. Best car I've ever owned. Had a mustang and Camaro before this and they were terrible. The worst problem I've had is the driver side door won't open from the outside, but opens from the inside. The battery died about 2 months after I bought, but I bought a new one, and it's been fine since. The driver side headlight went out bout a month ago but replaced it. Driver side fog light is out. Had check engine light come on about a month ago, but it was just the gas cap. Honestly, I've seen a lot of people with bad 2011 sorentos, so I'm grateful mine is good. Older couple in their 80s bought it brand new in 2010, and then I bought it at the dealership as they were finalizing their new Buick purchase. They told me the history of the car and everything. They barely drove the car 6,000 miles a year, so I think I lucked out. Now, the car feels every bump on the road, so not the comfiest SUV I've been in. The leg room isn't terrible in the 2nd row, but good luck with a rear facing car seat lol. You'll have to move the driver or passenger seat forward if you put the car seat behind them.

Sorento tranny not so 'bullet proof' after all.

My 2011 KIA Sorento was purchased new from the dealer in Atlanta during the Summer of 2010 (2.4L LX). There have been some minor problems during the years since, but lately, I have been hearing some whining noises coming from the transmission. KIA dealer says I need a remanufactured transmission @ $3300. The part has to be ordered and there is a significant delay in getting it, plus I have to prepay. I have 141000 miles on it and planned to keep it a while longer, but I am having doubts about that now. I noticed there was a recall on the books for my year and model concerning the noise coming from the transmission. I am going to see if that will apply to my car. If not, I am going to trade it for a 2005 Lexus LX470 I have my eye on.

Kia Sorento - junk yard

I have a 2011 KIA Sorento, with less than 60,00 miles. The power Smart key module and ECM. Stoped working. One night it was fine. Next morning the car was dead….. Less than 60,000miles. Down now for 8 months…… All Kia says is they can’t get the parts….. That I can sale it to a junk yard.

The most beautiful car I've ever owned..

I was looking for a Honda CRV but the 2011 KIA Sorento was in my price range and in mint condition. It's a beautiful vehicle and rides very smooth. My favorite is the seat its like getting hugged. It also has a backup camera which has taken some getting use to but a very nice feature. My only complaint is there is no outside temperature or direction lights.

Worst Car Maintenance of ALL time!

This car is constantly in the shop getting repaired. It has cost me almost as much money in repairs than the price I actually paid for it. I will never recommend this car to anyone. The 3rd row seat is a joke. Its so small that even my 6 year old struggles to sit comfortably in it. Worst purchase I've ever made.

Has made sure I'll never buy Kia again.

Where to begin... first few years were good. The last few, not so good though. Door locks, windows and cruise control work when they want. Backup camera does the same. Been that way for years. Oil leaking somewhere on the motor, mechanic has no clue. You know you have a bad model when you overhear the mechanics at the dealership complaining about how many they have worked on and how crappy of a vehicle it is.
