2012 Kia Sorento consumer reviews

Purchased this Kia 5 months ago. I picked this car because I travel and rent cars nearly every week and I was very impressed when I started picking Kia's from the National lot in Burbank, CA. Finally got to drive a loaded EX and was sold. This car has been on 2 trips from Dallas, TX to Galveston, TX and to Denver, CO. Averaged 22 - 24 mpg to Galveston with 4 people with luggage and 18 - 22 mpg To Denver hauling 7 teenagers and an aerodynamic cargo carrier. That was 18 to Denver and 22 back to Texas. I love driving this car. It has solid feel and good power. The SX has all the bells and whistles I need but a power tailgate would be nice.

This is a great suv the sx compares to the lexus rx or acura rx with heated and cooled leather seats and heated steering wheel nav for $20,000 less a no brainer in my opinionbut if you need a premium name badge then spend the money. The v6 ihas more than enough power but if your looking for mpgs opt for the 4. This is my first foreign car i ever purchased i always bought gm and dont think i ever wil again. Also kia is built in georgia supplying jobs for american workers.

I recent bought a 2012 Sorento EX v/6 AWD. I was looking for a nice wagon for business and pleasure, but there really aren't any mid-size wagons anymore. They're all crossover/suv vehicles. My daughter has a 2011 Sorento EX, and has had good luck with it so far. The other vehicles I looked at were all within an inch or two in height and length . I was looking for amore basic unit, but the dealer gave me such agreat deal, I couldn't pass it up. It has everything in it I could have wanted and more. Other vehicle were thousands more with less features than the Sorento. With only 350 miles so far, I really haven't expected to see great fuel mileage, but it's doing about 18-19 mpg around town. Not too bad for a 2ton truck!

This has to be the best deal ever, perfect styling and design...all around good performance...fantastic mpg. We really love this vehicle .... just test drive one and you will too. We also own 2011 Kia Forte SX...everthing equals the Sorento as far as design & styling...but performance & handling is incredible. Value for the money (for both) is off the chart|||

The vehicle has many upsides. I own the LX with Convenience Package, 4 Cylinder GDI. The mileage has been generally good; I have clocked slightly over 27 mpg. The only downside is the ride; while I am already used to it, the 2011 Mariner base that I traded for the Sorento, rode better on the rugged city streets in Chicago.

This is an extremely nice vehicle all around. It is a pleasure to drive, with excellent handling in turns as well as out on the "open road". I love the GDI 4 cylinder engine technology coupled with the 6 speed transmission. This gets the power-to-weight ratio into a zone of maximum efficiency. The transmission will "shift early" under light acceleration resulting in steady power delivered to the wheels even at low engine R.P.M. I like to lock it into 6th gear after 40 mph and then it won't downshift on small hills. All of this contributes toward achieving good mileage considering the size and weight of the vehicle.

I was looking for a 4 cylinders vehicle with good gas mileage. So I've choosen the Sorento EX because of its advertised performance and good warranty. Big mistake, the most unpleasant is its performance and especially its poor gas mileage. Ok, it is very well equipped. I give 3 stars for overall rating just for the warranty and all equipment included for the price. Please note, that's why I am on this website to find a better vehicle ...

I was a loyal Ford owner. Till I got in to an accident in my current ford. I had to rent a car so that I could have transportation. I was given a 2012 Kia Sorento which I thought I was not going to like. But to my surprise. not only did I fell in love with it cause of its trim, interior, the handaling every thing. I just love this car. I do recomend this car to any one. Casue I have made up my mine between a Ford Explorer and the Kia Sorento. My New car is going to be a Kia Sorento...way to go Kia two thums up

A little dissapointed with the sound system and gas mileage. Otherwise I reccomeng to anyone. Great dive, great comfort, quite, sturdy.

I traded a 2007 Saab 97x 5.3 for this automobile, so performance is the only thing lacking although still adequate. We live in the mountains with frequent winter snows and rather than just the AWD it has a button to push for 4X which I have used twice already this season. I have put over 4000 miles on the vehicle so far and it performs beyond my expectations. Paramount Kia of Hickory are good folks to deal with as well.
