GREAT BUY, ESPECIALLY USED
I BOUGHT THIS CAR USED WITH LOW MILEAGE (UNDER 20K). IT IS, WITHOUT QUESTION, THE BEST CAR I HAVE OWNED. DEALER IS GREAT, BUT BE PREPARED FOR $50 OIL CHANGES ETC. IF YOU CAN GET ONE USED AT A GOOD PRICE, JUMP ON IT, IT WILL LAST MANY, MANY YEARS. ONLY RECOMMENDED MAINT. FOR FIRST 80K OR SO IS OIL CHANGE AND TIRES ROTATION...ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I WILL BUY ANOTHER, IN ABOUT 5 YEARS. HARD TO JUSTIFY NEW UNLESS YOU LEASE, USED IS THE WAY TO GO.

A good balance of comfort, style and relaibility
I had lost my Lexus in an accident and was so happy with my Lexus that I wanted to replace it. So far I have not had any reason to be sorry.

Worst Lexus I have ever owned
Built in Canada is not the same as Japan. This was the third Lexus I bought and the most expensive. After purchasing it made 8 trips to dealer in first 6 months for all kinds of issues. Died twice and left me stranded. Dealer was really not very concerned about the number of problems. I can now see why Lexus lost the top spot recently for new car problems. Disappointed.

So far so good
I got this RX350 right before X'mas 2006. Don't be surprised, it was already on sales in Europe since 2006 though in the US , the 350 model started only in 2007. It now has 25000kms and still haven't had any big problems yet. Though it sometimes shows "Check Air-Conditionning" at start-up and I had to switch off the A/C and Switch on again. The Front seats are quite small so they aren't as comfy as in the bigger models. The thing that really disappoints me is the transmission. When you need some thrust at low speed, it won't just change to the 1st or 2nd speed .... it's quite annoying sometimes. You have to step on the pedal to the bottom and stay that way for like 2 seconds until the transmission reacts. Apart from that, there's been nothing to say. The electronics are great. The original Mark Levinson sound system was also pretty good but had to add an extra amplifier and a sub-woofer to get some real music. Bluetooth phone, voice command, rear camera, power trunk, touch-screen GPS, many other cool features. They may not be as sophisticated as in the BMWs or the Benz but at least, everything works. Overall, its a nice car and it's a japanese engineering so as long as you add water, oil and gaz, it will run.

Power,great gas mileage,superb reliability!
We owned a 2002 RX 300 previously and loved the car. We traded it with 60,000 miles and the only service done to that car was scheduled maintenance and tires at 30,000 miles. The only complaint was the lack of an overdrive gear which resulted in only 21 mpg on the highway, not to mention the high RPM at 75 MPH. The RX 350 gets 25 mpg on the highway at much lower RPM. The RX 300 was also "gutless" when we tried to pass slow moving vehicles on 2 lane mountain roads. The RX 350 passes with ease. The added horsepower really makes a huge difference. We love the reliability of the Lexus and only wish the American car manufacturers would "GET IT". People want cars that are reliable and retain their value over time. The executives with the American companies are only interested in their own salaries, stock options, and retirements while the American car manufacturing is going into the toilet. Great example: Mercedes was one of the most reliable cars until Chrysler bought them. Now their legendary reliability is a thing of the past. I used to drive only Mercedes, now I drive Lexus. WAKE UP! Ford,GM,Chrysler!!!

Best Car I've Ever Owned
I love this car. I have owned some pretty nice cars but this is the best. I chose this car over an Infinity FX-35. On paper the FX performance is better (more power, 0-60 time), but driven hard by selecting and holding the lower gears the RX performance seemed punchier. It is luxurious, comfortable, slightly sporty thanks to the 270 hp engine and selectable transmission, and practical all at the same time. I really like all the standard options plus the extra cost features that I got with the packages I chose. I love the power tailgate, automatic wipers, and adaptive headlights. The navigation system works well but I think lexus should provide map updates for free. I have only one real gripe with this car and that is related to the Nav./Telephone system. The speech recognition system is poorly designed and making phone calls with the bluetooth system is far too cumbersome, long-winded, repetitive, and error-prone if you use speech recognition. Otherwise the phone system works well with my bluetooth cell. Also the system is too restrictive in not allowing certain functions while driving, e.g. not being able to dial in a telephone number. This is clearly done for safety reasons. So the service guys at the dealership recommend using your cell phone while driving to get around this restriction. Duh! But apart from this it is a great car and would recommend to anyone that wants a really nice SUV. BTW I get around 21-22 MPG by not driving it too hard, but this car will go when you need it.
