I thought I was a GM man until

I've had 4 Cadillacs thought my 01 Eldorodo etc was my favorite until I got this 02 Contenital presidential just got back from first road trip it now has 83k miles got it from 88 yr old lady and it looks like new inside & out & smooth ride is a understatement!and interstate cruising it's a Beast I see why Ford put this 4.6 in the Cobra Mustang throttle response is unreal absolutely amazing! I got off the Cadillacs because of the shoe box look and been driving Volvo S80s for about 10 yrs now they are Very Good safe dependable cars but after this trip getting back in my Volvo is a bummer! I got this Lincoln for $3000 and my plans were to flip it but now ...how can I sell the by far the best driving car I have ever owned!

Great vehicle for those on a tight budget

Although my Continental was a 98, the series from 98 through 2002 are great luxury rides @ relatively low cost. As other reviews have stated, they are very reliable, comfortable, & easy on gas (I averaged 18 city, 24 Highway). Also the last 3 model years these were loaded with high end options as "standard" items. The only extra was the sunroof. I sold mine 3 years ago with 125k miles on it & it's still being driven daily.

Best large sedan

I have owned 3 of these--a 2001 and 2 2002s. Lost the 2002's--one to a deer and one in a freak flash flood. The 2001, that I bought 6 years ago with 45,000 miles is just now starting to have minor problems at 150k. One of the 2002s had 45,000 mi. when I bought it, the other 26,000 miles. The cost to buy each of the 3 was about $6000. These are very powerful and comfortable cars, with lots of bells and whistles. The 4.6 engine is bulletproof, unlike the Caddy 4.6. This car has pretty much the same dimensions as the DeVille but has much more features that come on every car, like the sunroof and a 6-CD changer. They get good mileage, particularly in the highway- about 28-29 mph even at 75 mph. They handle very well in winter weather also. One of the best and most reliable used car values out there (don't pay more than $6-7k if the mileage is over 50k). Lincoln made a big mistake when they stopped making this model in 2002--they should have just given it an update.

2002 Lincoln Continental CE

This is my 4th Continental , 98, 01, and two 02's, so obviously I am a fan. It is a full size American Luxury car that has comfort, style, handling and more. The CE edition of only about 2000 cars in 2002 with all the bells and whistles like 2 tone leather, real wood interior trim, driver adjustable steering and air suspension , heated power bucket seats and so much more is a pleasure to drive.

Great value for $$

Bought this car in August 2012 with 109,000 miles. The great price reflects the current market perception of all luxury cars, but the reality is that the car gets 30 mpg on the road, it's hard to find more comfort, and the "Driver Handling" selectivity make the InTech V8 great for acceleration and handling too. I've owned cars I paid 6 times as much for and I've never had anyone honk at me in traffic until I rolled down the passenger side window just to have him tell me I had a great looking car. I put new tires on it so far and the dealer fixed a glitch in the power passenger seat at no charge prior to delivery...and that's it, so far, 5000 miles later. Great value on a used car.

Best All Around Car I Have Ever Owned

Ford made a tremendous mistake when they discontinued this GEM of a car. They never really promoted it as they should have. I bought it used and it has proven to be the BEST car I have ever owned. It is very comfortable, stylish, very roomy inside and the trunk you could sleep in. In other words, BIG!! The economy is great and better if you drive it right. On the highway I always use the cruise control. If it is set at 67 miles an hour my car gets between 28 and 31 miles to the gallon. Around town I get 17 MPG which is not bad for a 4000 lb car. The car is loaded with all the options and I love it. I would recommend this car to anyone.

Excellent car for its age

I was looking for a 2002 or newer Lincoln Contintial that I could aford. There were few to choose from and the clostest to me was Texas. When commucating with the dealer He was coroperating whith me all the way and the car was everything that they said it was. I would deal with them again if the occasion occurs.
