A good car
2002 Lincoln LS V-6, 52,000 miles. Purchased used lease return May 2003. Dealer maintained. Just replaced sunroof. Cable broke. One piece unit cost $1800. Only repair in more than 6 years. Highway 25 mpg, city 18-19. Lube those sunroof rails. Otherwise, a reliable and comfortable car. Follow scheduled maintenance. Recommended. Driven on L.A. streets and freeways.

Uphill traction problem
Has practically no traction on smooth concrete on uphill driveway ("lays rubber" copiously). Will back up steep drive, but cars parked on narrow private road above makes backup untenable: rear vision is obscured. Traction button on console worthless. Mechanics baffled.

never buy a lincoln ls
i have had so many problems with this car i just hit 80000 miles. I have replaced the thermostat, headlight seals do not seal, had to replace. My airbag light is on for no reason when the airbag is fine. the car is junk for the money you pay to have a luxury car. I love the way they look, but looks dont matter when it should drive as good as it looks.

Just because it looks good, dosent mean it is good
I had a 2002 LSE Model. Purchased in 2004 and still under warrenty and was certified. This was my first car purchase out of college without my parents help. I was in love and had to have it. It is in my opinion style wise very simple but o so elagant. It a sports car with the feel of a luxurious Euro sedan. However a year into my dream purchase the car began to have some very expensive problems with the electricle systems and engine. I relpaced the rear window regluators 3 times, had the navigation system replaced with the Alpine sound system to have it also malfunctione alot and replaced twice, then the engine began giving me proplems with the ignition, fuel lines and major transmission issues. I traded my LSE in 2006. I hated to let it go but my repair shop bills were more than I wanted to spend. It had always had regular service at a Lincoln Dealership.

Many problems with the fuel system
Coils, Plugs, Wires, and Gaskets will have to continually be replaced. The interior and exterior of the vehicle are gorgeous but once you get under the hood it is a nightmare. Lincoln should really be ashamed of the engine they placed in the dream of a car.

Very confident highway car.
This car loves to stretch its legs on the highway! I've got the V8 with sport pkg, and this car simply provides unsurpassed confidence at highway speeds. My car has 60k miles on it and has been very reliable. I love the standard equipped Michelins, and will purchase them again. The interior could benefit from more storage, but who really needs to store junk in the car anyway...this doesn't pretend to be a minivan. It's a shame Lincoln discontinued it, but it's our secret. Let others pay $10k additional or more for the competition, and costlier service parts. I'd take the LS again.

exceptional car
As a used car these are a fantastic value. $42,000 Premium Editions are going for under $15,00 three years later. Excellent performance, V8 is a blast to drive, looks sporty yet elegent, great longevity. mine has over 90,000 miles and is flawless.

What a Rush!
I have owned my 2002 Lincoln LS for 2 years. The vehicle is very nicely equipped with a powerful V8 as well as great interior features. I would recommend this car only to fair weather drivers though. As well as this car handles on dry pavement, don't expect it to budge in inclement climates. The traction control does little to help in snow, my best bet was adding weight to the trunk of this rear wheel drive vehicle...lots of weight. My major complaint with this vehicle would be the repair costs that are associated with buying replacement parts. I have paid for so many window motors that I could cry. Unfortunately there is no generic part that will ever fit on this vehicle, everything must be purchased from Lincoln. I have had lots of mechanical problems that have made this car a headache to own. I recommend this car to a mechanically inclined person who knows their way around an electrical system. If you can afford the minor repairs that seem so prevalent, you will enjoy the tight handling and power that Lincoln has to offer.
