the good n the bad

i have owned this car for a year now and i have to say that overall it has been a good car but lacks room for anyone who steps into the car. Also the mazda 3 is a high maintenince car after a while it gets so frustrating. I take good care of my vehicles but it is just not the car for i originally owned a mazda six n loved it never had a complaint but for a first time driver it is a wonderful car to have if you have had other vehicles dont bother you will be dissapointed.

Exactly what I needed, cost less than I thought

I had a hard time finding a car that met my requirements. I wanted something that had 4-doors, a decent amount of interior space, got good mileage with regular gas, wasn't a drag to drive, was available with leather interior, and offered an available roof-rack. The Mazda3 Grand Touring met all these requirements, and cost far less than I was willing to pay for a new car. Exterior - for an economy priced hatch, I think this car looks nice. In the Grand Touring trim, it came with decent looking alloy wheels. Tires are surprisingly big and sporty for a car this size. Interior - is really nicely appointed, and for a car of this price has a lot of great features. 10-speaker Bose sound is good, and the stereo has some great features: automatic volume control, 6-CD changer, integrated Bluetooth, AUX input, and MP3 playing capabilities. Interior quality is OK, but not as sharp and well designed as my Honda Accord EX was. Driving impressions - High points of driving this car are the car's cornering (which is impressive) and breaking (which is good). With the upgraded (2.5L) engine, I thought pick-up would be a little better. Mileage is OK (could be better); about 28 on the HWY, and I can do about the same in mixed city/highway driving if I drive conservatively. Driving comfort is pretty good; it is a nice mix of quiet and comfortable, but still feels sporty with the nice handling. I tried spending more on a car, but I couldn't find the mix of features that the Mazda3 GT offered, even at a much higher price. I considered Lexus Ct200h, Acura TSX wagon, and Audi A3 TDI, but couldn't find any of these cars in these trims available at a decent price. I would recommend this car.

Wow!

I bought a new 2010 Mazada 3 Grand Touring and loved it. One year later it was totaled by hail. I sought out another Grand Touring, ended up going 100 miles to buy the one I found. It is worth the trip, loved the first one, love the second even more, the 2011 comes with more standard bells and whistles on the Grand Touring. I cannot say enough positive things about this car. It makes you want to drive! I wasn't even looking at Mazada until my wife suggested we drive one, had to have it once we drove it. Great resale value. Fun to Drive. Great milage but plenty of power. All the extras make you feel spoiled. Drive one, you will want it. Zoom Zoom is right. Get the Grand Touring, worth the extra cash.

Solid Performance and Comfort for a Lead-Foot!

We traded a really fast and loaded Lexus IS350 for 2 Mazda 3's. My wife drives the Sedan and I drive the 5-door. Both cars are 2011 Grand Touring 2.5 with all the bells and whistles. We've been pleasantly surprised with the overall quality of both cars and especially love the Bluetooth hands-free connection to our iPhones for calls and music (wireless from the phone to the Bose stereo). Kudos to Mazda for the extra subwoofer in the 5-door. Excellent use of technology!!! I purchased the 5-door as a company vehicle and drive a ton of miles and haul all kinds of client materials, often crammed to the headliner. When I say; "I drive a car hard", you'll need to trust me but the Mazda 3 is a very tough car. The 5-speed auto shifts really well for a serious lead-foot. "Tuners" should love the 5-door for sure. My wife averages 27 mpg. I average 24 with the pedal to the floor most of the time. If I were a younger man, I would've bought the Mazda Speed 3. Just too old and lazy for manual tranny. The truth be told, the Lexus was more powerful and had air conditioned seats, that's about it. I paid the same amount for 2 Mazda 3's as I did for the single IS350. The overall value is a huge win for Mazda. I've owned a bunch of different vehicles over the years and I can honestly say that I may actually by the same car again when this one is tired of me. I would recommend a Mazda 3 to anyone in need of a fun to drive and reliable car.

great driving......better than the competition!!!

I just bought this car two weeks ago and I can tell it was a smart purchase...this car drives better than a honda civic or a toyota corolla, even better than the new jetta....the only thing I regret about my car is that doesn't have a sunroof....this car is well equiped for less than $20,000 such bluetooth, nice sound system and many things more

Wonderful, best affordable car out there. This one is my second 3, and my third mazda. Will not be my last either. Zoom Zoom is right. 6 of my friends and coworkers now have one too. ENJOY!

Just over a month old now

Bought the Grand Touring in Graphite on June 14th. The car is fun to drive and I really like all the features it came with. Looking back i wish I also got the Technology pkg, but oh well. I do love the little car, but wish the leather was a little better in quality. Little things get on the leather so easily. The harshest complaint I have is the mileage! I wish the mileage was better on this 4cylinder car. I also wish they kept the side markers as standard on the 2011 models! They had it on the 2010 models but removed it a year later. Also wish the power seat had memory function (also like in the 2010 model). Overall the car is good car.
