Overall my ML430 has been really good, but I wish

Overall for being now 17 years old (as of 2017) she is still running, but on her "last legs" with over 230K miles. I just wish I was confident she would go another 50K to 100K miles, but with the many issues that she has, I'll be lucky to trade her in by the end of the year. Many systems have worked really good, but others have been very frustrating as to how easily they broke!

Reluctant buyer

I'm only a used car buyer and had read negative reviews on this SUV. I became an owner when a nervous seller accepted my lowball offer in a parking lot. As I drove it home with a series of idiot lights glowing, I was amazed at how nice it drove and how smoothly it ran. It had an assortment of odd size tires, so new tires were in order. Next a used ABS unit installed in my driveway put the idiot lights at rest. Installation of a double din bluetooth Pioneer sound system run through the factory amp brought it out of the stone age. It was a really nice freeway cruiser and surprisingly agile on the twisties. It had a low range mode and probably has good offroad capability. If you're an above average DIYer and can get one of these cheap.........go for it.

Built like a tank

The ML55 is an absolute beast. If taken care of, these cars will easily do several hundred thousand miles.

2000 ML320 Loved this car!

I purchased this car used and owned it for 5 years. This car was rear ended by an when an extremely large tow truck. The driver was going about 60 mph and I while I was sitting at a red light, I was hit from behind. I suffered minor injuries and the Mercedes was totaled. this car is made of extremely heavy and only sustained a small scratch but the insurance totaled the car because they said the frame was bent. I only had one mechanical issue with the Mercedes after I owned it for five years, and that was, that the car was unable to get out park in the morning. So instead of getting it fixed a friend of mine told me to put a screwdriver in the gear and with so instead of getting it fixed a friend of mine told me to put a screwdriver in the gear wiggle it around, and it worked! Aside from that I had no other mechanical problems in the five years that I owned it. The car was amazing, the sound system was like no other car that I have ever driven, the seats were very comfortable and I got a lot of attention while driving the car.

SAFE SAFE SAFE

My wife and I owned our 2000 ML430 for 5 years and never had a problem with it. I recently was hit by a drunk driver on a rural road causing my ML to roll over the adjacent hill twice landing on its wheels. I suffered a serious concussion and spinal sprain but am alive and walking again. The CHP said had I not been in a Mercedes Benz I would not have survived. I will absolutely buy another ML as soon as my recovery is over! BTW...my wife drives a SLK. MB drivers for life!

A Dealer that Truly Stands with you

I bought the ML430 and Sal at Plaza and his staff were great. Plaza was recommended by my daughter who bought a car a month prior.Sal worked with me through the financing and I am in love with my ML. Sal and Plaza are new members of our family and I am truly grateful for knowing them. I have had no problems and the ride is smooth. Thank you Sal and Plaza including Pete.

Excellent ride!

Bought this SUV because I wanted to ride it to Tahoe. Handles very well on Snow and slippery conditions. Ride is very comfortable. Benz has lifetime roadside assistance which I used a couple of times and really liked their service. Overall happy with the purchase.

Big Disappointment from the very beginning

I was so thrilled when my husband bought me this car brand new in 2000. But there were many problems almost from the start. The first 50,000 miles covered by MB, this car was in the shop a lot; including a major electrical issue before the warranty went out that would have cost over $4,000. Now, 11 years later I thought I would have a vehicle that would last over 200,000 miles - what a joke. My car has 111,000 and every system has failed. I have not had a stereo system for the last 10,000 miles. The locks are broken on every door. The auto windows are broken. Three repair lights are lit on the dash. It needs a 100,000 mile check up that costs $2-3,000. It needs over $6,000. worth of repait work! This car costs $40,000. plus the insane unfair financing that MB gives you that is NOT full disclosure. PLEASE run don't walk away from this car!
