One of the best investments I have ever made
I bought my 2006 2.5S Altima in 2007 with 8000 miles on it. It was a corporate lease and is currently getting close to 90,000 miles. I keep it up with maintenance, have checks for safety and have driven it from Houston to Las Vegas (through mountains), pulling a 4x8 loaded trailer, and am getting ready to do that again. Really could not be happier with the ride, power and overall look. Am looking at getting another Altima next year but why when it is still going strong? Read a review about someone having to replace breaks every two months. Even if you put "double miles" on it each month, why? There is either something wrong mechanically or perhaps the driver is riding the brake?

Best Car ever
I bought my 2006 SE 2.5 Altima with 40,000 miles. It now has 140,000 miles and runs perfect. Absolutely no maintenance other than normal oil change, brakes & tires. I have driven it from Washington State to the middle of Mexico and back 3 times; to Vegas and back numerous times all at 80 mph and more. Great gas mileage; plenty of power and great handling.

Great Value/Reliability
Bought our '06 Altima ~5 yrs ago, and it has been away at college with our two sons since then. Had 37K on it when we got it, and has 91K on it now. It has never failed us... Tires, brakes, and belts have been replaced but right on schedule. Has never needed even a tune up. This car was build correctly and built to last. Still gets 30 mpg highway, 23 mpg around town, and has a lot of pep. It's now in the hands of our 3rd and youngest child. We're hoping to get at least another 4 - 5 yrs out of it and I bet we do.

Pretty Good Car
The biggest problem we've had with this car is the brakes needing replaced VERY often. I'm talking on average every 2 months if not sooner. That being said, we use this car as a work car. It does have a lot f miles racked up on it each year. (nearly double the yearly average) Because of that I can understand the brakes needing changed more often. However, we also used a 2007 Chevy Malibu for the same job for a long period of time and did not have to change the brakes all the time like we had to with the Altima. The car has been a trooper. Has yet to have any major problems! (knock on wood!) over 200k miles and still running as good as the day we brought her home!! Regular maintenance plus the crazy amount of brake changes is all we have had to do. A few little things... We noticed not long after purchasing the car the speedometer was off by a few mph. it would read 55mph but really it was more 52/53. Also, the gas door does not shut properly. It sticks/ goes on crooked. As far as comfort, this is not my favorite car to sit in. the ride is smooth but the front seats are flat and not very comfortable. I prefer the backseat design over the front. Overall, this has been a REALLY, really good car. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a reliable car. Especially wanting a car long term.

Premature rust
Purchased '06 Altima 2.5S new Oct '06. Superior maintenance and care....car shines showroom new to this day. Oil pan rotted out at 75k miles. Front driver and passenger floor boards rotted out at 100k miles due to design and poor quality sheet metal. Nissan Consumer Affairs offers ZERO help or support for this known defect. Paid $1000 to replace floor boards. Muffler is rotting out at 110k miles. My wife's 11 year old Accord has zero rust! Will NEVER purchase another Nissan.

Nissan price - Infiniti ride!
We purchased Altima new in 2006 and it is now Dec. 2013 still going strong. Oil change here and there and one accessory belt replacement (routine maintenance) Wouldn't change a thing - we have the 2.5L and it has more than enough power! Wish there was more to write, but Nissan was on their game with the third generation Altima.

Altima 2007 2.5S
I bought this car new. Eight years old, 45,000 miles now. Very dependable. Great power and gas mileage. The ride is great and the rear seats are very comfortable. I get many compliments even at this late date. It's the best car I've ever owned. The Cadillac being the worst car I ever owned. What a statement that is. My only negatives are the drivers seat is not hard enough, the doors do not lock automatically and the side mirrors do not fold. Nothing is perfect. This car is really a winner.

Altima SE-R is perfect mix of sports car and sedan
I found an '06 Altima SE-R with 12,345 miles and couldn't pass it up. Mine is the six speed manual and it is the easiest manual you'll ever drive. Very smooth gearbox that lets you shift effortlessly between the gears. The engine setup is also nice in that it is not picky about what gear you are in. Even takes off in second. Very classy yet sporty interior. Sport seats are not only nice looking but also functional and comfortable. Also comes with heated seats. Only thing this car is missing is a rear view camera. The exhaust y-pipe design is less than perfect, but I plan to install an aftermarket one to help exhaust flow. I really like the body styling on the SE-R. The fascia and the big dual exhaust pipes really add a nice touch. Suspension is sport tuned, yet doesn't bounce you around. Very comfortable ride with good feedback from the steering. With the 3.5L V6 there is a good balance of power and gas mileage. From the positive reliability history the Altima's have, I hope to get many years of fun out of my new SE-R.

Nissan Altima 06
I bought this car new in Feb. 06. I was never sorry I bought it. It proved to be a reliable, comfortable car. For the money, it was a very great value. I had planned to drive it for about 10 years more, but was hit at an intersection by an elderly man who'd had one too many. I had 66K miles on it and it was in great shape. Had it not been for the tipsy elderly man, I'd be driving it for some time. I had zero complaints about this car. My past cars have been Toyota Celica, Honda Accord.
