Nissan ultma

Transmission went out and replacement cost is more then I paid for car. I think nissian should have to pay to get my car fixed but I missed the extended warranty by 2 years and nissan said they would not have replaced it unless it was bad anyway. So now I have broke down car and no money to get it fixed

Sleek looking and a fun car to drive

My cars.com search was a coupe with manual transmission. I was looking for lower mileage and not too old. The Nissan Altima is sleek and a lot of fun to drive with its 6 speed manual transmission. Love it so far!

Lemon don't buy

First off, I bought it used and the day after the purchased, the steering lock failed (so it wouldn't start) cost $700.00 for the part! uses oil, don't drive in any kind of weather! Your hydroplane in light rain, zero traction in 1 in of snow, God forbid you hit a patch of ice and the last gloriously but not least there is no place to put a tow strap. Ended up ripping a hole in the trunk to get it out of a ditch.( That was with the help of a tow truck.

Great gas mileage, great handling, smooth ride

Very reliable car. Comfortable ride. Inside very clean. Would buy a Nissan again. Appreciated the good gas mileage and overall performance. Keyless entry a plus!

Ticking time-bomb

While the Altima has a comfortable ride and good A/C, that's about all it has going for it. This generation of Altima is infamous and for good reason, the CVT on every last one of these will always fail at around 120k mi or less guaranteed. Nissan was even successfully sued in a class action lawsuit over it if you don't believe my word. This car is also very prone to overheating issues, again concerning the transmission. I cannot use my Altima for stretches of highway or turnpike driving for longer than 30 mins or my transmission seizes and I have to coast to a stop and wait for it to cool down. The seats are very comfortable although the leather is very prone to cracking, and that's about all the good things I have to say for the interior. Every little door and every hinge in my Altima broke over the course of 5 years including the glovebox which now falls off if you try to open it. Cupholders are basically unusable, there's 2 of them located in the front doors, but because they're squeezed into the door nothing fits into them properly and they tend to pop the lid off whatever drink you have in their anyway. I have had no fewer than 5 major repairs done on this car over the 5 years of ownership and it's left me on the side of the road 4 times in as many years. This car is not reliable, and it is not fuel efficient, but it has nothing to offer in return for those negatives. This car cost me $6,000 used at 100,000 miles and I have had to put in around $3000-$4000 in repairs to keep it running over 5 years, including a $2,000 transmission replacement after the original died completely at 130,000 miles. Stay as far away from this car as you can. And if you own it, get rid of it as fast as you can. Heed my words or you too will be stuck with this xxx. If you want a decent, used, full size sedan go for a: Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, or Mazda6. xxxx basically any other sedan barring a german luxury car is more reliable than this thing. I will never buy a Nissan again after my experience with this mistake of a vehicle.

Nice first car

Nice reliable vehicle for the money and for a first time driver. Has all the upgrades a person would want and holds their value since it’s a Nissan.
