Very reliable

My is satisfied and only comp is the leather interior coming a loose. I love the gas mileage and it’s professional speed. I like it’s looks. But the head lights needs work.

Dashboard sticky, splitting, bad odor, discolored

Satisfied til this happened! Have taken care of my cars and use garage and leave windows down to prevent hot car. Have never had this problem with any car before. When you pay thousands for a car it should hold up! I want it replaced or a full credit on a new car!

2.5 SL Very hit and miss, Jekyll and Hyde car

I bought the car new in 2009 - now have 10 years and 104,000 miles on it. The Nissan engine had been great. It still runs like new. I have replaced the belts; spark plugs; one oil seal has leaked twice; and an emmissions cap. Original starter, ignition coils, alternator, engine mounts - and no major issues. Exhaust system is all original. CVT had one service covered by warranty. However it seems to be struggling the last few months - can hesitate or surge. My 98 Altima also developed transmission issues in its 11th year. The CVT has always been sluggish with the AC on; and the car seems to be 'searching for a gear' in snow or ice. It handles horribly on snow. On temperate days the accelerates beautifully and overall w the AC off the car has excellent power for its era. The speed sensitive steering and wheel design makes for very good handling - I tried many small and mid size sedans and only the Mazda 3 and Altima 3.5 were better. But the steering is very sensitive to tire pressure and alignment - if either is a little off the steering can get too much play or be overtight. The regular breaks are great in good weather or rain - anti locks are awful in snow. They just increase stopping distance and overemploy. I love all the features for 24,000 - heated leather seats; Bose stereo; climate control AC; sun roof; alloy wheels; anti glare rear view mirror; blue tooth (which was not standard at the time). But lots of corner cutting. Leather has not held up well - both front arm rests broke or wore out (covered under warranty); the key fob sensor failed and locked the engine stranding mr (though the 1400 repair was covered under extended warranty as it was a bad design); the center lid/arm rest cracked and I had to have the left bolster of the driver seat repadded. Also while the speakers have held up the display and the up button to change the stations are failing. No knob which is ridiculous for a car stereo in the sayellite era. Also all parts connected to the car ride dynamics have been subject to failing. The break master cylinder, break booster, rotors, wheel hubs, control bars, a sway bar and the shocks all needed replacement in the first 90,000 miles. The body. power train, and exhaust system have held up well. Overall i think it is a nice, slightly sporty, design mixed with a 'classic sedan' style and a ride and handling that match the looks. It can be a very fun car - but is also erratic and not cheap to maintain. Like a smart, aytractive girlfriend who is a little crazy.
