Love It
I get 34MPG with this car ALL the time. That is unless I speed. The leg room in the back is wonderful for the basketball players I drive. Comfort, a Lexus it isn't but for the size it is comfortable. The MPG makes up for it with gas prices going up. Not sure I would want to drive from coast to coast in it but it works good for driving 6-7 hours. Am thinking about buying another one. To me it looks just like the Rogue just a Mini Me of it!!! Good choice.

Best value car in America
Most basic viable car on the market. It has four doors, plenty of back seat space, a nice large trunk, and a pleasant interior. I bought it purely for commuting to work in, we also have a Sienna for the wife and kids. The 1.6 engine is enough for it to be nippy when i'm alone in the car, and adequate when others are loaded. The manual gearbox is a bit notchy, but functional. The gears are low, so it gets noisy at speed. 3.5k rpm at 75. I got the second most basic model, the sedan, just AC (for california climate) and ABS (very important, in my opinion, and should be standard). no other options at all. the crank windows and manual seats and mirrors don't bother me, its nice being simple - makes the car light. but the non-power doors annoy me - especially since only the drivers door and trunk have keyholes. one more keyhole couldn't cost much, surely? bulid quality seems very good for a cheap car. ride is nice and comfortable, but handling is not great - i have 14 inch steel wheels which make it very wallowy and soft. Again, though, for me to drive to work in, the soft ride keeps me relaxed Almost all the competitors in this market have better vehicles in some way, mostly because of more features, but for me the price was the most important. i got it for 11400 (before tax&license), and no competitor could get lower than 13000, with AC. The handling of a FIT isn't worth 4k extra to me, and the "coolness" of a fiesta isn't worth 3k extra. Its a bit of an ugly duckling, but then i'm european, so really its normal for me. its not offensive, and its certainly not bland. commuting to work i get 32mpg (half city half highway). freeway trips at 75-80 get me 35mpg. overall, super happy with it.

You get "less than" what you pay for
One of the lowest priced cars on the road. We needed to trade in a BMW in order to economize - save on gas and maintenance. It's a fun little four cylander but doesn't hug the road well and the exterior paint chips off if you even look at it wrong. We bought the 1.8S because the 1.6 doesn't even have ABS (disc brakes frankly should not be legal anymore), and drove off the lot for just over 13k. Look carefully into other cars in its class - may the Scion, the Honda Fit, the Toyota Yaris. They're all more expensive than the Versa but may be better buys in the end.

Versa the Versatile
I bought the Versa hatchback because it met my needs (lots of storage) and it was cheap (real cheap). I always though I?d buy used cars only, but when I divided the purchase price by the estimated number of useful miles remaining on the vehicle, I found that buying a new Versa, in the long run, was the best deal. I got a steal at $10,800. I paid cash with no trade-in. Out the door, with all of the taxes and fess was around $12,600. I have only driven the car for 2000 miles, but I am very comfortable in it. I am a person who likes to drive for driving sake not just for commuting. Therefore, I highly recommend the manual transmission, which adds a lot more fun. The acceleration is decent, but the handling can only be described as adequate. A sharp turn can be made, but with no acceleration and no brake. Otherwise, it under-steers like a pig. This is caused by a couple of things; narrow track and tall outline cause high center of gravity, skinny tires, soft suspension. My previous car was a 2001 Ford Escort, which weighed 240 lbs less, had a lower center of gravity and therefore handled much better. The interior is roomy over-head and has great leg room. I am 6 foot and normally, I slide the driver seat all the way back. This is the 1st car I have ever driven where I slide it forward some. It can fit 4 large adults very nicely. The 5th is difficult. The car is narrow, so the middle seat is real skinny. I have 3 young children. The rear bench can fit my 6 year old without a booster, my 4 year old with a booster and my 1 year old in a car seat, but it is very tight. I wish that the car had been made wider instead of taller to give it sportier handling and a wider rear bench. Also, the driver seat sits a bit higher than I would like. I would rather it be very low, like a sports car. The driver seat is supportive, but the foam is dense. Therefore, it insulates and causes my back to sweat. The interior is well designed. The seats fold down to make room for my windsurf equipment, and the roof can be fitted with an aftermarket removable rack. The last complaint I have is the keyhole. There is only 1; on the driver side. I want a keyhole on the passenger side as well. I like to open the door for my wife, but have no desire to carry around a bulky remote for keyless entry. Overall, this car is fantastic. It is simple, functional and versatile. Most importantly, though is the incredible value.

Love it!
I'm very happy with my car so far. It manuevers around town great. The gas miliage has made me happy. I seem to get gas once a week and it fills at around 25.00 depending on gas price and where I go.I love the features in it including my bluetooth. It has great pick up for a little car too. It did well for me in the snow last year also. I find it to be very comfortable for seating also. I have the hatchback and I can fit all kinds of things in it. All in all I Love my Versa!

Great value for a basic transportation vehicle
I was interested in the new Ford Fiesta, but then I noticed that the specs on the Nissan Versa were very similar...at a considerably lower price! So, I test-drove the Versa and bought it afterwards. This car is a real bargain. I got the base, base model that didn't even include a radio, but, hey, it is a great vehicle for basic transportation. I drive only about 5K miles a year just to work and back, so this vehicle is ideal for me. It has a very nice cushy ride from an excellent suspension, and it is even "spunky" in performance. Plus, I have been getting about 33 mpg in combined highway and city driving, and it is rated a ULEV for everyone who is interested in going "green" (like me!). I also like that it sits up higher than most small cars, so the visibility is great and it even looks and feels like a bigger car than it is. If you want brutish acceleration, however, this is definitely not the car for you! As I mentioned, the base 1.6-liter engine is "spunky" but not fast. But, it gets around well enough for most "normal" commutes on both highways and city roads. You may want to consider this car, and you can save some money too.

Great value in a small urban hatchback
The Versa SL Hatchback is loaded with features: The usual tilt, cruise, air, power windows and mirrors plus traction control, premium wheels, fog lights. a premium sound system with MP3/I-pod and Blue Tooth connectivity, plus a CVT auto transmission that gives real world 30 MPG in city driving. It's also quite roomy inside for a "B segment sub-compact." The car mags are down on them for handling and and performance, but you know what? It's not a sports car, and right now you can get a super great deal on one.

Roomy and cheap
The Versa isn't big on frills, but it's by far the roomiest small car out there. I'm 6'4" and I am more than comfortable in the front, and even have alot of room in the back. I've taken it on a few long trips, and the extra room helps! It's a great value. Before trade-in and tax, I paid 16k for a new 2010 1.8S model. It gets 32 to 33mpg (about 70% highway). I've had it 3 months and put 8000 miles on it (long commute and those few long trips), and I haven't had a complaint to make. Not big on my list of requirements, but it's also a nice looking car. Not too blocky, halfway sporty. I wasn't looking for a "cool car", but it's certainly not an embarrassment to drive *cough*Cube*cough* The only downside is the lack of extras, not too much interior storage other than in the hatch and on the doors, no gadgets to play with, but I didn't get this car for that reason. I wanted a car with room and good mpg that I fit in, and this car excels on all counts. I would (and have) recommend this car to anyone looking for the same thing I was. You'll be pleased.

2010 Nissan Versa 1.8 S 6-Speed Manual Trans
The rare 6-Speed manual trans is only avl on the 1.8 S Hatchback. Much faster than the CVT automatic that comes on the SL version. With light touch on the gas can be shifted using only gears 1,3 & 5. Top gear 6th is only for interstate use. Rear hatchback door unlocks with other 4 doors from remote keyless. Only oddity is gas fill is on the right passenger side & should be on drivers side. Great cargo load area with rear seats down in a small car. Much less $ than Honda Fit with same MPG.
