Awesome SUV

Great SUV. Perfect blend of utility and performance. 3 years in and still love it like the day I bought it. could use some more "upscale" features" such as power seat even if as an option.

Solid with high miles.

I have driven my 07 Xterra for two years, added over 40k miles to it, and am convinced I made the right choice. The total mileage on the vehicle is now 70k. I have had no problems so far. I average 19.5 mpg. I commute over the Continental Divide once a month and have never felt short of power going over the mountains ? I?m always passing people going up hill. It performs great in the snow and the Electronic Stability Control is very quick responding. I?ve used the roof rack several times and really like the oversized bars. They?re not flimsy, they give you plenty of room to work with, and I don?t feel like I?m going to break them when I crank the tie-downs down tight. The storage compartment in front of the roof rack is nice for anything you don?t want in the cab with you, wet or dirty clothes for example. The boxy design allows you to utilize every cubic inch available ? no slating rear windows that waste storage space. I?ve fit more than I thought I could on my trips to Home Depot. The plastic floor in the back let?s me throw things back there without worrying about scratches or stains. Buy a cheap rubber mat from Walmart if you don?t want things to slide around. There are also two rails in the back you can use to tie things in place if needed. An intrusive wheel well makes the back seat a little harder to get in and out of, but friends say it?s not a big deal ? try it yourself. The controls are simple, well placed, and easy to operate with gloves on (I have the basic radio which has bigger buttons). In short this vehicle is reliable, practical, attractive, and performs great.

Fantastic Vehicle/SUV!

We've had our 2007 Xterra for 2 years now and would happily jump on the chance to add another Xterra to our garage. Did an amazing job keeping us safe when a Semi truck ran us off the road in Texas last year (09). Smashed up the front end and shattered a rim. We were towing a trailer on the back too. No damage to the trailer whatsoever. The Xterra took ALL of the damage. No hard to the cabin or passengers. FABULOUS vehicle for all kinds of driving. We just bought a 2004 Ford Mustang. The Xterra is our family car, while the stang is the sporty toy. Still prefer driving my Xterra. no problems at all except we had to have the battery replaced recently. Thats it. Insurance isn't real high for it either so its great!

HOPE I GET MY MONEY OUT OF IT

For the money it was well worth it. I got a great deal on my 4x4 Xterra. Though I love the car I don't know how long it's going to last because it's been in the Shop so many times. I had a noise issue that never seem to want to go away and had to end up replacing new rear end axle among other things. Maybe quality has gone down hill. It was a lower model XTERRA but had many same features as high end models.

First car I bought and so far it is a good vehicle

Before I bought my 2007 xterra I owned a 98 Frontier and thought it was a pretty reliable truck so I went with another Nissan vehicle. I originally wanted a toyota tundra but couldn't find one to fit my needs and couldn't get a good deal. I have a little over 4,000 miles on my xterra now and so far I haven't had any major problems with it. It handles well to me, looks stylish, isn't too bulky and has good power. The inside is pretty roomy, looks nice as well, and can easily hold 5 people. The back can hold a lot so its good for hauling boxes back there and plenty of groceries. It even has a small spot underneath the back you can put stuff. The only problem is the floor back there is plastic so stuff slides around everywhere and even scratches the plastic but you can buy a carpet to put back there. The top also has a place to put things. I also recommend getting the side rails because they look nice as well and are great for shorter people and to get in the back seat. The back seat has good room but is difficult to get into. Another issue is the gas mileage which isn't terrible but not that good either. The xterra also drives a little bit rough but its not too bad. Overall I definitely recommend the 2007 Xterra because it is a good value for the price!

Great vehicle for the Money

Nearly every vehicle I have owned has been a "lemon" but I have been extremely pleased with my 2007 X-terra. It handles well, is sporty yet simple and carries my cargo (3 children ranging in ages from 3-14) safely. I wish the features were a little less basic but overall, I think I have a great, reliable vehicle.

Solid Vehicle

I switched from an 05 Jeep Liberty to an 07 Xterra X package due to help from a Lemon Law Settlement from Chrysler. The Xterra beats the Liberty in all categories but handling. THe Xterra handles like a boat compared to the nimble liberty at slower speeds, such as pulling into parking spaces or going down offroad trails, however, the Xterra is very solid on the road and on highways. Gas mileage is much better than what was advertised and what I expected. I get about 22 mpg around town and highway ... I've noticed no difference in mpg with different driving. The interior is very well designed, as I said, the vehicle just feels solid inside and out. The engine has good power, and the manual transmission shifts better than cars I have driven that had sticks. I'm very satisfied with the Xterra after 4000 miles. As I said my only complaint is sometimes its a little vague in handling in tight situations, but the overall quality and design of the vehicle makes up for it. P.S. The "easy clean" cargo area means your stuff slides all over the place on the plastic. I had to buy a floor mat to put back there, they sell them from Nissan that are specifically made to fit but they are about 70 bucks.

Great Vehicle for all occasions

We are in our mid fifties and really surprised our kids when we traded our Altima for this vehicle. The ride is really firm, solid and comfortable. We really like the raised back seat so passengers don't have to look at the headrest. The wife uses it for work and the gas mileage is only about a mile per gallon less than the Altima but the power in this 6 cyl. engine is all we could expect. We don't have the 4 wheel drive version but it suits our needs well. The safety features are great with square tubing framework and engine mounts that break off and drop on a frontal impact. The test drive will convince you of the quality.

Sorry Jeep!

My Wife and had been shopping the Major Players in this segment and were on our way to order an 08 Honda for her. (Previously had test driven Honda and liked it) and stopped by the Nissan Dealership on the way there. We had looked at Xterra but not driven one yet, and wanted to give the X a fair shot at it. After 10 Miles and both Highway and country road driving, we were amazed at the Power and Smooth Handling. Frankly, the Power and Acceleration compared to the Honda was no contest. The X had it all over ALL the others and we were so impressed with the Live Rear Axle and limited slip differentials front AND rear (Standard on all models!!) That I traded in my Jeep Wrangler that afternoon and we bought TWO Xterras from Nissan. My Wife LOVES her "Red Brawn" (She calls it "Dark Ruby" and I feel exactly the same about my "Night Armor" X. EVERYTHING about this truck is a winner. The Air cools down the cabin in 2 minutes, and it was 92 degrees here today in Sunny Pennslyvania, amazing. I had the Back Seats folded down today to move and entire DRUM SET for my nephew which he bought from Guitar Center. That Rubber Cargo area with the EZ fold down seats is Great. And you dont have to take of the head rests to do it, just pull two straps and down they go. There is simply nothing you could ask for (within reason) than this truck does not do. PERIOD. I passed one of those Mercedes Benz $50,000 Bread box SUV's today and had to laugh to myself, he could be driving an X and saved himself 25 Grand!! Highly Recommended !!
