V6 really is an option now
After 2.5 months of ownership, I can honestly say somebody has put a V6 engine in a full sized pickup that works. I traded in a less than year old GMC Canyon for this RAM, which was like trading in a dumb phone for a smart phone. There really wasn't a question about should I do it, it was a matter of would I like it. ... I do. Finding a V6 with the options I wanted took the dealer a while, but they did find one with the options I wanted (500 miles away). The V6 engine not only is smooth, but has some power when needed. Yet, in normal driving is a real fuel saver. I do mostly in town city driving and I'm getting 18-19 MPG on a regular basis. I was getting 15-16 with the GMC. On the Highway, wow watch out. I average 24 MPG, but have gotten as high as 27 MPG, the best I ever got out of the Canyon was 22 MPG, and most of the time on the highway it was 19-20. The interior is great and I no longer feel like I'm driving a new 10 year old vehicle. Ram stepped up the game and did a great job on the interior material quality. The ride quality is better than in my wife's car and the road noise is almost non-existent. Other manufacturers will have to play catch-up to this truck, Ram has raised the bar in just about every area. The V6 has a fairly low towing capacity, but I don't own equipment that has to be hauled around 7x24. The Hemi V8 will help in that area if you need it. The dials, especially the 8-speed transmission rotary dial can take a while to get use to, but overall it that's the only downside and after having used and lived with it for 2.5 months, I now kind of like it.

Amazing
I located a hard to find Ram 1500 SPORT edition quad cab. This is one beast of a truck. It is the most aggresive looking stock truck on the road. It sits up higher than most 4 wheel drives. It is extremely smooth to drive. The 5.7L Hemi is an absolute monster as long as you can handle the fuel cost (I average about 16 mpg in mixed highway/city driving). This particular model has sportier headlights, a sport grill, and sport bucket seats up front that are trimmed with leather-like material. (The middle of the seat is a very comfy mesh material.) I cannot say enough about how good looking this truck is and how nice the interior is. It also came with the UConnect system as well as a 506 watt Alpine system (flashback to 1995 when people knew who Apline was). The driving dynamics are terrific. I wasn't quite sure what to expect as I have always been a car guy (Camaro,Civic, Jetta, Fusion). I am blown away at how well this truck handles and how smooth the ginormous transmission is....Sticker was $38,535. I bought it for $34,200 and got the dealer to throw in window tint and a spray on bedliner.

Great Truck
This truck rides better than my '05 Chrysler 300!! The interior is great! This Ram replaced my '03 Dodge and it is amazing the improvements they made over that truck, which was a very reliable truck with over 130,000 miles. It looks great and the Hemi's performance and fuel economy is better than expected. I took it on a 1,200 mile trip 2 days after I bought it with 19 mpg.

I love this truck.
The only complaint I have is that the drivers bucket seat sits up to high. I'm 6'4" and would like it a couple inches lower. Other than that this truck is fantastic. Great looks and the 6 Cylinder motor is economical.

Best truck I've ever owned
We have already took a trip in the truck to Texas. The truck handled very well and the ride was excellent. We averaged 24.3 miles per gal. What can I say, a great truck!

Best compromise between economy and power
New 6 cylinder engine with 8 speed automatic is great combination. They are hard to find, I looked for 3 months. Go driver in town and open road. It took some time to learn all the buttons and stuff.

Awesome truck
Love the looks, the power and it tows my race car great. I think Ram was smart in putting their most powerful engine in its smallest truck. Regular cab shortbox with a hemi. Why doesn't GM do this with there trucks. No 6.2 in a small truck is dumb.

2013 Ram Longhorn
Overall, I'm extremely impressed with this truck! I made the step up from a 2010 F150 with a 5.4 Triton. The cab is slightly smaller in the back than Ford's SuperCrew, but the overall comfort and performance is night and day. Having a well refined cabin with great looking and feeling materials makes for a much more enjoyable ride. Even the sound dampening is better than what my F150 offered. The four corner air suspension is a nice touch as well, although I don't see myself using the entry level, the off-road levels are excellent for those moments you need that added clearance. I'm not too sure how much of a difference Aero mode makes, but it makes you feel better knowing that Ram has gone the added distance to try and save you some of that 89 octane fuel. Love the truck! Looks extremely nice, sounds better and leaves me grinning still.
