You can't beat a Subie, especially a Forester

Clean styling and lines, inside and out. I prefer the premium model, with the all weather package, but because of the excellent deal I found on this car, I bought without the package. Gas mileage isn't bad. Comfort is great for a small SUV. If this Subaru performs as all my past ones have, it will easily last for 200,000 miles.

Great with Caveats

Overall a great car, with superior AWD performance. It only falters in Technology integration and front seat comfort.

Just purchased, but handles amazing in the snow!

Test drove a 2014 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid Touring package and it was a nice car and handled well, however, the Forester won my heart. The Forester handled extremely well on ice, snow and slush, was much roomier and also has a spare tire! The hybrid Crosstrek has batteries where the spare would go. We do a lot of dirt road driving and it would suck to get a flat and not have a real spare. The Forester was quicker at the take off and in general just much more powerful. The Crosstrek has a great look to it, but the Forester is a better fit for an active lifestyle. You can actually fit gear into the back!

great option for many. safety and fun factors

43k mi in 3.5 yrs. one time drove up an icy road in Ruidosa NM. Sure was glad to have all wheel drive. driven it in mud and the beach. one time got stuck, a little to muddy. so it definitely has the fun factor. safety- I have eye sight. attempts to stop before an accident, lane assist (just yesterday in my work truck without this, I looked away from the road for a moment and almost crashed into an on coming car), the ease of adaptive cruise control. easy of entrance as a smaller suv and easy to view around you. I would definitely buy again.

Nice Vehicle

This car meets our needs and appears to be a good vehicle so far. We also have a GMC Terrain that appears to be larger and heavier so they are hard to compare.

Problems with my 3rd Subaru

In 2015, I bought my first new Subaru after owning two used ones. The first obvious problem was the hatch stopped working as soon as the weather got cold. A part had to be replaced. Then I realized that the windshield wipers were a pain. The slant/design of the windshield allows copious amount of snow to build up and I am constantly deicing the wipers. Then biggest issue. I have two big dogs. The back seat is coming apart at the seam. The console has been completely torn up by the dog's nails. Showed it to a friend who works on interiors and he said it was very poor quality. When one of the dog's was a puppy they took a bite out of a back seat. No problem, my fault. When I showed the seat seam to the dealership they told me it was caused by the dogs and not covered. I wouldn't have asked them to fix the other interior issues even though I believe the console issue was caused by poor quality. My old Subarus withstood 4 or 5 huskies riding in them with no obvious wear and tear. Now, with less than 30, 000 miles on it the radio has stopped working and the cd player only kinda works. No more Subarus for me.
