Sporty
I like this car, it Drives nicely. Handles well. The lights seem to go out on this vehicle ALOT. It cost $45 and up to have the front bulbs replaced as the wheels must be removed to reach the lamps. :(

Very reliable and love AWD
The dependability is amazing, the AWD is amazing in the snow here in Wisconsin and impressive MPG for AWD. Handling is sporty. Steering is nice and tight. The only complaint is it rides a bit hard. That may be due to the AWD. It does burn oil every 2,000 miles, supposedly due to the 0W-20 Synthetic Oil.

The Funnest Car I ever owned
This car was taken on a Family Visit/Road-trip to Yellowstone National Park. My daughter is a Ranger. This car was put through its paces. I wanted to see what it could and could NOT do. I climbed Logging Roads, Crossed Creeks (streams), and went through the woods and on SUV ONLY trails. I was NOT disappointed! Everything I asked of this Legacy, it did. Not one thing I tried that it could NOT do.

Excellent car!
The Subaru Legacy is an excellent car for the money. It is very reliable and comfortable to ride in. I love the fact that it is AWD, especially for the Ny winters. I would definitely recommend a Subaru!

Great car for both city and mountain driving
This car is economical, safe and drives nice too. It's great in all road conditions even the tough winter driving Colorado roads and highways present.

Decent car but burns oil
Discovered after owning it that many Subarus burn oil - which is wonderful for the environment. Subaru does not really do anything about it unless it burn a quart or more every 500 miles. Burning a quart every 1000 to 1500 miles means you keep adding oil. They brag 98% of their cars last 10 years or more in the USA. That is because 20% of the Subaru owners pour oil into their engines between oil changes.

I loved it... at first
This car is a great value when it comes to something for commuting that has passenger room, AWD, and gas mileage. I couldn't have asked for better at this price point. However, if you are looking for a comfortable, reliable vehicle for longer road trips with the family, or you live in a place with moderately extreme temps, you may want to keep looking. Pros: The car has been great for back and forth to work, excellent on gas mileage (on 87 octane, between 28 and 32 MPG average), and it even got be safely through some Colorado snow last winter. It also has plenty of legroom for my teen in the back seats and even for my 6'3" husband to drive comfortably. Also, loads of trunk space for this size vehicle. Cons: The car is a pain in extreme temperatures. If it's anywhere over 70 degrees outside the a/c has to be on. Venting won't cut it, as the air is always engine hot and humid. If you are loaded down at all, this knocks your mileage down about 2-3 MPG. In the colder temps, the defrost doesn't always want to keep up with snow coming down. Ice builds up around the edges of the windshield. It burns oil. Nearly a quart between oil changes now, at a little over 70k miles. On long trips, if the car is packed and 2 adults and 2 kiddos are riding in it, the transmission has a tendency to overheat. This is pretty much a given in hot weather. Pulling over and letting it cool down about once an hour is not helpful when you're trying to get through more than one state in a day. The seats are not comfortable. They are okay for shorter commuting, but after about an hour of driving the driver's seat cuts into your legs and the seats feel hard. I wanted to love this car, and I did... at first. Now, after putting it through a lot of difference conditions over the last 10 months, I'm wondering if I should consider something else.
