Comfortable, practical and reliable car
Bought the Legacy after having a Honda Accord that had a problematic CVT. Car has proved to be more comfortable, quieter and has an excellent CVT devoid of the usual characteristics. Absolutely trouble free. Outward visibility is best in class. Engine seems a little coarse sounding when started in cold weather but once warmed up is smooth and quiet. Performance is adequate - never any problem merging into fast highway traffic. Transmission has a slight moan at parking lot speeds but it disappears at speeds over 8mph. Handling is sure and ride is smooth. Engine has consumed no oil whatsoever. Fuel consumption is OK but about 5 to 10% heavier than the Accord was - overall 27 mpg versus 30. This is from measurements taken from fill up to fill up. The trip computer is 5% optimistic.

2016 Subaru Legacy...fantastic!
I'm 6'2" and the driver's seat has plenty of leg room. The leather seats are very comfortable. The infotainment center with navigation is very easy to use. My favorite feature is the EyeSight Driver Assist. As a regional sales guy, I spend a lot of time on the road and after one week, this feature is awesome.

Awesome well made safe car
First, this car is nicely designed with excellent visibility and I really like the electronic seat with lumbar support and also the sun visor extends for side sun protection. The car has a great stereo system, enough leg room and comfortable leather seats,a large enough trunk and runs smoothly down the road with plenty of power. The Cruz control works perfect and you can adjust the speed up or down in one mph increments and the controls are on my steering wheel along with the stereo controls. The stereo has a "Mute button" which I love when you want to talk! This Subaru Legacy 2016 is all wheel drive and is one of the reasons why I bought this car and the safety features and I had excellent customer/sales service and all my needs were met. The car is quite, beautiful, comfortable and I'm really satisfied with my purchase and will buy another Subaru when I need another car. I'm guessing on the gas mileage is about 30plus mpg as I just bought the car 9-22-16. Also, all my mirrors have the dimming effect so I'm not blinded from headlights and when a car appoches my side mirrors light up to let me know there's a vehicle close, love that. Also when backing up there's a camera that shows up on the screen what's behind my car, excellent feature! The car is capable for satellite radio and capable to link Your cell phone with blue tooth. Overall,I'm really excited to be driving a safe and well equipped "Beautiful " car!

Happy rider
Subaru is my first 4-wheel drive car. I got 2016 Legacy premium model with Eye Sight and heating seat option without leather seats on 2016 Feb. 21st. It has been over 6 months and I guess it is about tom say something about this car from my side. Overall, i am happy for this purchase. Still there are some stuffs Subaru needs to improve on their products. Tempted in Outback, but for its size I might need to get 3.6 engine which will kill mileage values. this 2.5 lt legacy is has very good mileage. I just finished trip to Memphis from my home town Laurel in MD, which is 1,824 miles of round trip. gas mileage, as you know, depends on your driving habits. I did not drive too roughly, but not too gentle as well. Most of roads were high ways of I-95, I-395, I-66, I-81 and I-40. But there was 4 times of heavy traffic cases, including two times of accidents. And, I used its beautiful cruising system for at least 50% around at 72 MPH. And I got 36.5 MPG, which is incredible for 4-wheel drive cars. If you keep the speed between 40 and 65 MPH, it can be close to 40 MPH. i have seen it a couple of times. Once speed goes above 65 MPH, it will go down to 36 MPG, still which is great. 4-wheel drive handling is great, feeling very secure level of motion. And its Eye Sight option is soooo GREAT! I will recommend to every one for this option. That was the one reason I did not go with Forest. At that moment, Forest did not have Eye Sight option available. I believe that now it is available even for Forest. Combining Eye Sight with Cruise system, it will keep the a certain distance from the ahead car during cruising even at lower speed that the set points, meaning that you do not turn off cruising option and have to reset it again and again. Very convenient and safe. BTW, here are several points to improve Subaru products from my experience. 1) It is not quite or smooth car at all. My previous cars were 2002 Lexus ES 300, 1998 Buick Regal GT, 1999 Buick Park Avenue Ultra, 1990 Toyota Corolla, 1992 Oldsmobile 88, some old used Mazda Protege and other many rent cars. Among all of those, it si most loud car and i nicknamed it "Twister" since it makes some weird wheel sound at low speed range. Other peoples are complained about wind noise, but it is not that bad at all. My Lexus (which is known as quietest models) is just a bit better, and that is all. But legacy engine and wheel sounds are very loud and annoying. Once are is moving above 35 mph, it seems ok. 2) CVT is not much preferable to me. It is my first CVT trans car, so I cannot compare with other models. But I noticed rough moving actions, and i guess it was due to its CVT. And I heard many others also mentioned it. It is not smooth at all, and you might have to deal with it. And, there fake manual mode is just a JOKE! i highly recommend Subaru to remove this option for the future, or improve it. Otherwise, it is useless. 3) Overall layout in the cabin is good, but the audio system configuration just confuse me still. And the audio sound is VERY BAD!. If you want any serious premium sound quality, you may have to upgrade your sound system. I am a highly qualified audio/sounding expert who is working in many sound system and music systems. I have owned very high end audio systems in my home as well including many tube amplifiers. So, I know what good sound is. And Legacy premium model sound is much worse than my old Toyota Corolla's sound quality. 4) Seat is Ok, not not great. After seating for 2 or 3 hours, I feel uncomfortable. Seat heating option with cloth seats are GREAT! I do not like leather seats at all, but I do need heating seats. If seat is comforting for long period of hours, it would be great. 5) As someone mentioned, the door lock is not automatically secured once car is moving, or after turning off the engine and removing key. My 15 years old Lexus does it and it is very secure. Overall I like this car, and thinking to get Outback sometime later, if Subaru improves most of above points I listed. The main reason i got this car was that secure 4-wheel model through all 4 seasons without hurting gas mileage but with good liability, which I got what I want, except liability that will tell after time passes. It is great car, but I do not think for every one out there. It just has a different taste. Hope this will help you guys if you consider for this type of car. happy buying.

Very solid car
After a lot of research I decided to buy a 2016 Legacy premium. Since I have owned the car less than a month, these are my initial impressions. The Legacy has a luxury car feel to me. The doors are heavy, the ride is very smooth, and it has a tight feel to it. Gas mileage so far has been better than advertised. I am averaging better than 30 mpg in mixed city/rural driving. The car is roomy both for all passengers and for cargo in the trunk. Acceleration is just fine with the 4 cylinder engine and the car should have enough belle and whistles to suit most people. I am very happy with my purchase. My only cons would be the steering can be a bit numb at times and there is a very slight hesitation by the CVT when starting from a dead stop.

2016 Legacy Owner (3.6r)
I have owned the car since Sept. 2015 and I am glad that I bought car this rather than several other vechile that I researched and test drove. It represents a great value for content choice. Looks good, not over done and the interior is clean and intuitive. It handles well in the Western North Carolina mountains, has plently of smooth passing power and rides very smoothly. I think it is totally understated and classy. Gas mailage has been much better than EPA rating and I really enjoy the power of this car. Fun to drive, great infotainment unit for the price and the eyesite feature is brilliant . Plus you get all wheel drive, While I see many comments from others that all wheel drive is not necessary, I find the traction feel better than any, any other car, SUV or truck, and I driven a great variety. Floor the gas and feel the traction. Great to speed out of curves too. This is the best vechile for the money out there today, but that's just my opinion. I have had only one issue and that was a sticking fuel filler door and that was repaired by Subaru.

Outrageous handling.
People in our small town know that I have probably owned more personal cars than anyone else my age. I have owned brand new cars from the least expensive to some of the most. luxurious. I have owned dump trucks and flatbeds. I have never been so disappointed in any car the as I am with my 2016 Subaru Legacy. It's handling is outrageous. It has problems with the parking brake, with the trunk opening on it's own and with the starter button as well. When I called the Subaru factory rep, I was on hold for 15 minutes and then told she would call me back. It has been a month and I haven't been called. The dealer made an absurd offer to trade for a Ford that I liked but he even wanted to charge me $ .32 per mile for the miles I've driven. NONE of the miles were enjoyable and a good portion of the miles were for travel to the dealer to beg for service
