2011 Subaru Outback consumer reviews

Excellent reliability. Not a single repair so far (45,000 miles/6 years). Fun to drive and very quiet. All-time awd is awesome. One little annoying shortcoming is that only driver's window has one-click down/up option.

This is my first Subaru and it really met my needs. I'm impressed with the comfortable seating and the handling is predictable and sure. Just the right size to meet my travel and cargo needs. The back seat leg room is fantastic with plenty of space to stretch out for passengers. The size of the Outback is a perfect for my needs, not too small but also not too big.

Have owned this car for almost seven years and have never had anything "break". The only non standard maintenance I've ad to have was for several recalls. Gave only three stars for performance because the highway gas mileage in lower than I hoped. Also, only three stars for interior design because of the climate controls.

Bought this car new in February 2011. Opted for the Limited with the 4 cylinder and automatic. It had proven to be extremely reliable and amazingly comfortable for all uses, long and short trips. The back seat is surprisingly roomy both in width as well as leg room. The front buckets are comfortable if slightly short on thigh support. When and if we ever decide to replace this car the Outback is going to be our choice again. Love it!

I never drove an all wheel drive car before and after driving this Subaru Outback, Ill never go back. Subaru's are so practical and get me to where I need to go, I don't mind using it as an utility car to get a bit dirty or haul things, I can clean it up easily and still have a very nice car to drive around in daily. My experience with my outback was one of great fuel economy, cargo space, comfort, and features, all at a very economical price for the overall vehicle/service history. I HIGHLY recommend a Subaru for new drivers, and also for people who drive in the mountains and snow. I am in the process of getting another one currently.

I got the same Subaru because the last one saved me. Walked away unhurt from being T-boned at high speed. On top of that, it gets excellent gas mileage and can drive in any conditions. We live in snow country in the Southern California mountains. Even when it dumps 5 feet of snow, we can get out and get around, no problem. Never used chains on it. Never had any mechanical problems. Now over 100k miles. It's amazing this car can be so reliable, so safe and so useful! Perfect vehicle if you ask me!

This car is reliable. Very comfortable. We are selling at 116,000 miles and there is still so much life left in it. The pick up is strong, and it's great in the snow. During one of the biggest storms in NY we were on the highway, and all other cars were slipping and sliding. We glided right through all the traffic with no problem. We were using regular tires. The car is just so stable. The leather seats are a dream. The a/c is strong during the summer. The heated seats are awesome too. There is a lot of space in the back seat. When the seats in front are pushed all the way back, there is still a lot of room for adults to sit in the back. We have a baby and with the car seat installed, two adults can still fit comfortably. The trunk is huge. We fit a big stroller (Uppababy Vista) and can still fit our Costco shopping. One time we traveled across a couple of states and in the trunk fit 3 pieces of large luggage, 2 small ones and Christmas gifts for about 15 people. Also traveled to Chicago from NY, back and forth. We filled the tank up 4 times and when we got home had a little more than half a tank left. Clocked the MPG At 29.

Met all my expectations, and beyond. Best car for family. Lots is space. Car is fast too. Great pick up. In the middle of a snow storm on the highway, all cars were slipping and sliding and this car held up well, and easily passed everyone.

This car fits me so well and is very comfortable to drive. I've driven long mileages in it by myself and have been comfortable. I've had zero problems in six years of driving it. I love the room in the back to haul boxes and even once a hay bale! With the back seats down I have slept in the back quite comfortably when out camping.

Lots of room. Great for hauling kids and soccer gear. Handles great in the snow. I have the 3.6R which is a great combination of fun to drive and practical.
