2018 Camry Experience
The 2018 Camry is a solidly built, comfortable vehicle. The 4 cylinder engine provides plenty of power, while also providing superb fuel economy!! The ride is very smooth and quiet, and the amount of trunk space is surprising. We're looking forward to lots of traveling around the US this summer!

Redesigned Camry not ready for road
I?ve owned my 2018 Camry LE with convenience package for one month and I absolutely hate it. I had a 2015 Camry so I really didn?t take the new model for much of a test drive. What could go wrong, it?s a Camry? Well, actually everything could go wrong. I should have known better than to buy a car in the first year after a total redesign. The transmission is horrible, shifting into higher gears too soon and requiring significant amounts of throttle to downshift and then, only after the transmission ?thinks? about it for a while. This saps all the power from the engine, which is quite loud, making the car sluggish. But, I understand it. In order to list such high gas mileage numbers, the car needed to get into higher gears fast and stay in these higher gears. Again, I wish I had taken a longer test drive so I could have discovered this fault before I bought this discouraging vehicle. Also there are numerous rattles and buzzes in the instrument panel. I have decreased the level of this noise by inserting many coins and pieces of rolled up cardboard into the seams between the various pieces that comprise the instrument panel. This is a terrible thing to have to do in a brand new car. And, ?What were they thinking??: 1) Why do the distracting, large, green-glowing RCTA letters (rear cross traffic alert) need to be visible when the car is moving forward? Poorly thought out. This same alert is only visible when the transmission is in reverse on my 2018 Chrysler Pacifica, which by the way, I purchased instead of a Sienna model. The Pacifica is a much more modern design. 2) As in the 2015 Camry I previously owned, the 2018 Camry also has the ?Max AC? switch at the beginning of the rotary dial that regulates the amount of heat. Countless times I inadvertently switched on the Max AC when all I really wanted to do was turn off the heat. As far as I know, every other car on the planet has a separate button to operate the Max AC, including the Kia Optima that I test drove and should have purchased instead of this annoying Camry. 3) The driver's side windshield wiper cannot be lifted high enough to get it to stay in an extended position. Was Toyota not planning on selling Camrys where it snows?

Honda Accords and now the 2018 Camry
The comfort and visibility of the Camry is great. Also love the Crush Blue exterior color! The pick up is noisy, yet it is okay. It's not as powerful as the 2015 Accord. The AC also isn't as powerful as the 2015 Accord.
