Super great comfort and economy

Couldn't be happier with our choice of a 2018 Camry. We have owned several Cadillacs in the past and have been used to real comfort. We chose to get a smaller car this time because of the great economy it offers. We found that we can have both comfort and economy in this car. And in addition, many safety features that give us a feeling of security in this speed crazy world we live in. Would recommend this to anyone who wants great value, and a reliable, comfortable car.

Best Car I have owned.

This car rides so smooth and accelerates with ease. I love the leather interior and the design of the interior and exterior of the car.

It's a competitive sedan, but...

The good: - Exterior styling is significantly improved compare to prior generations. - Safety standard features such as lane departure warning, correction, adaptive cruise control, automated braking are standard even on lower trims. - LED headlamps standards and is a significant improvement in night visibility over standard halogen bulbs on many competitors like Chevy Malibu, Nissan Altima, etc. - Good gas mileage, it's among the best in its class if not the best. Bads: - Fit and finish on various panels are terrible, I test drove two cars both had same issues, hoods and fender gaps are inconsistent, etc. if you run you finger through it it's even worse. Windows make clicking noise and clunks when being rolled down. - Engine sound is unrefined especially at mid to higher RPM. Many other sedans in the same class sounded better. - Clunky shifts, intermittently the shifts aren't smooth and get jerky. Toyota already issued TSBs to update software to address shift concerns. - Potential long term maintenance costs, this car uses 0w-16 motor oil which is almost nowhere to be found at your local repair shops or parts store. Once the maintenance plan expires you might be stuck with dealer doing the oil change, the parts department wants $50 just for the parts so who knows what they will charge for oil change. I asked service rep they said the oil are being imported and current new owners are under the prepaid maintenance plan for two years 25,000 miles and they haven't decide on how much to charge for owners that run out of the plan, he said potentially $80 to $100 range for oil change. Ouch... - Toyota refuse to join the Apple Carplay and Android Auto like many other automakers is a huge mistake, the two systems are way superior than Entune in every way. Scout GPS is a disaster, had trouble linking to the car with iPhone or Android devices, even the sales rep admitted they need to work on it, their apps are poorly rated in app stores. The interface is not as crisp and responsive as other Japanese, American, or German competitors, boot time is also too long. The system also cannot do OTA software updates like Ford, GM, Dodge/Chrysler, Audi, etc. So future software improvements are left at dealership level that have factory scan-tool. With modern cars software is like 50% of the car similar to smartphones it is so disappointing to see Toyota is falling behind with the game. - Toyota designed to have USB port and 12v power port under the center dashboard area but without any lights, it is extremely difficult to see and plug your devices at night as the center dash also covers up any visible light, I ended up using flash light on my phone to see what's going on down there. - Interior lights are too dark similar to many older Lexus ES350 models, barely see anything at night. Personally I believe some of the issues are probably related to this being a first model year car and I expect them to make refinements in future model years. Overall it fell short of my expectations of craftsmanship, quality, and innovation from Toyota. Midsize sedan and compact crossover segments are the most competitive segments in the auto industry right now, there are many other worthy competitors that are worth a look before you jump into this one, especially competitors from Hyundai/Kia and many American makes really stepped up their game.

Great, reliable drive

I have had Toyotas for awhile because of their reliability. This 2018 model has that, plus style as well. The look has been redesigned and looks great. The drive is as smooth as I've ever had in a Toyota and I am very pleased with the car.
