Great Commuter Car
I bought my 2001 Toyota ECHO in 2003 with 17K miles on it. It has been perfectly reliable. Not one thing has gone wrong. I have not had any repairs. I always go at least 5,000 miles between oil changes. It gets great gas mileage. I average 38 MPG. It is comfortable and the sound system is great. My only wish is that it had more horse power. It can be weak when going up steep hills, getting on the freeway or passing at high speeds. It is a car that will be faithful and reliable and very easy on your wallet. I would definitely recommend purchasing this car.

Excellent car! Extremely reliable!!!
I bought my 2001 ECHO used two years ago. It had 60,000 mi on it. Now it's right at about 110,000 mi. I have not had ANY problems. It is a very comfortable car, awesome on gas and has plenty of storage space inside. I would recommend one to anybody!

A Fantastic Automobile!
I bought my Echo (with 80,000 miles) from my car-salesman father in Oklahoma and drove it home to Kentucky . . . astounded by the comfort and ease with which it made the drive. Since, I have driven it to 156,000 miles and am still thrilled with it! I've done no major repairs to the car aside from maintennance and I drive it very hard. I work two jobs, one of which is delivering Pizzas at night so I do a LOT of stop and go city driving. It's almost impossible to get less than 40 mpg (I use premium fuel and non-gapping high performance plugs). Though I've test driven the auto, mine is a manual and that gives you ample power for any purpose. I've even seen an echo rally race! And it has tons of space inside as well as a large trunk. Mine also has the "trim" package which makes it more attractive, though I take issue with people who claim the Echo is the world's ugliest car . . . especially at a time when ugly is cool (Honda Element, PT Cruiser, HHR, Ford Aspire, Mazda 323, for example). I estimate my Echo will last until about 350,000 miles.

I LOVE MY ECHO!!!!!!!!!
My 2001 ECHO was the best! I purchased it used with 37,000 miles on it and drove it 123,000 miles before I was rear-ended in it. I had slowed to turn into my drive when a young woman crashed into me going at least 60 mph. Unfortunately, my ECHO sustained enough damage to total it, but I walked away with minor injuries (whiplash). My family has worried about the size of the vehicle since I bought it, but I think it proved itself! I never had a moment's problem with my ECHO and was looking forward to many more miles in it. The comfort and economy of this car has me wondering why it was replaced. I'm looking for another one.
