long time ford owner

bought fj with 136000 miles . we love it!!! the more we drive the fj the more we always take it instead of the wrangler. i'd never go back to a ford product unless it was free , and maybe then.

Never scared to do anything in this beast

Awesome Rig, reliable as ever, not scared to go anywhere with the A-Trac system and locking rear diff. Fun to drive and didnt do to bad on gas for being a big vehicle. Even laid the seats flat and slept in it multiple times

Most reliable car I have ever owned

I purchased my FJ Cruiser used with 100k miles on it, it now has almost 184k miles and I have no plans to let it go. I have replaced the rear axle and a couple of the wheel bearings but these are things that will need to be replaced over time on a vehicle like this. I have taken it off-road at the beach in the sand, at an off road park where I challenged it on a few courses, snow, ice. It is my daily driver and mobile man-cave. It does lack storage compartments but has tons of interior space. We've been able to pack the back storage for long distance trips and ride comfortably without having any of our travel junk in our seats around us.

My favorite car so far... I?ve had a bunch

The 4 stars is only because I?ve owned this for a few weeks. I really appreciate everything about the fj. The only irritation I have so far is the surprising lack of interior storage nooks. Acceleration is good. Handling for this size is good. I fit 2 kid car seats and one infant seat in the back. The modification potential is really unlimited. The stereo is OK. But overall, I just really like to drive this. I Think I can probably go anywhere.

A Real Head Turner

Very reliable, fun to drive. Gets around town and around the back roads equally well. Big blind spots behind rear doors. Not the best vehicle for a new driver. Not great gas mileage, about 15-18 mpg in town. We don't drive it on long road trips because the rear seats are not the most comfortable for our teenagers. Were fine when they were little though. No mechanical issues except normal wear items since new. It is now 12 years old, with 91K miles. Great 4WD system. Goes anywhere. Great in town because of size. But plenty of cargo room for projects and sports as well as camping gear.

Pretty good for the money

Car was definitely reliable in everything I threw at it. I love how the back window opens up but wish it would open up with a switch instead of having to manually do it. Stock subwoofer was pretty good. Also wish the mirrors on the suicide doors could roll down. Overall pretty pleased with the car. I think Toyota could of put a better engine in it. It's a 4.0 liter V6 but has less horsepower and worse MPG than the Jeep's 3.6 liter V6.

Just a different kind of vehicle.

Never should have let our FJ go! The only issue that the vehicle has is a rear blind spot. After learning how to adjust, and be a little more cautious when changeing lanes... you will be fine. Toyota dependability every day! Basic maintenance will keep it running into the 300k range.
