Comfortable. Feels safe. Better than my old Honda

So far, so good. Had considered Mazda CX-9, but relative lack of interior space was a negative, as was my chronic concerns re turbocharged. This model year lacks Apple Car Play, but Bluetooth phone and music are adequate for our needs. Presence of a CD player is a plus, as is the flip-up rear tailgate window. We prefer the blockier styling of this model, as compared to the 2020 model. Car has lots of power in reserve, and it is soothingly quiet. Ride is sedate, not sporty. Toyota long-term reliability statistics seem to exceed those of other SUV families.

Great Vehicle

I purchased this car in July 2019. It has been great so far. Excellent gas mileage in town. Great ride, comfortable for riders in the middle seat, a bit tight for adults in the 3rd row. My only complaint is that it doesn't have Car Play. Toyota needs to get this in all their vehicles.

Not bad

Solid vehicle though not very comfortable. Not enough room in the drivers seat in every direction. Center storage gets in the way of buckling seat belt. Needs to be redesigned.

Smooth ride

I was looking at the RAV4 Hybrid. I couldn’t find the one I wanted and the 2019 Highlander Hybrids were on sale because the new body style comes out next year. So that brought the price down to reasonable, or at least doable. I love the Highlander. Tons of room inside. So much that it feels a little big for a married guy with no kids. But the RAV4 felt a bit cramped. I’m a little above average on height. The highlander just feels like it’s a next level car when you sit in it and drive it. Smoother, more comfortable, and a little quieter (RAV4 hybrid was actually pretty quiet). I get 27 mpg on the highway. Supposedly it gets 29 in the city. I believe it. You definitely do not lose gas sitting in traffic. There are times I wish I had a smaller vehicle with even better gas mileage. Maybe I’ll trade it in in the future. For now it is a pleasure to drive and I would highly recommend for a family or someone who will be towing things on occasion. Towing capacity is 3500lb.

Highlander is an awesome automobile!

I was a little intimidated at first when I saw all of the buttons and gadgets, but it has been very easy to figure everything out. My last two cars were a Toyota Rav-4. With my family expanding I needed more room so I went up to the next size and that was a Highlander. I’m very pleased with the purchase!

Highlanders are a great SUV. Reliable, sweet ride, great features, sturdy, easy to drive, dependable. This is our fourth Highlander. It’s become our favorite vehicle.
