This hybrid car really shines at the gas pump. I reliably got 45-50 miles to the gallon. It does ride low to the ground so you must be very careful of curb stops in parking lots. I found it to be roomy on the interior and ergonomically solid. It's a wonderful commuting car in terms of MPG, but on the highway trucks and other large vehicles can be intimidating. Four adults can fit very comfortably and the trunk is also surprisingly roomy.

I currently drive 110 miles a day to go to school. The Prius lets me know how much gas I use every time I turn the car off, and the gas mileage. I definitely know when I'm driving a little more careless when my gas mileage reflects. However, be far warned if you plan on getting your first Prius, beware of the crazy drivers. There is a known perception of Prius drivers are bad drivers. Now I know why, they have to be! I am constantly being cut off, and people stop WAY to close for comfort at lights. People honk their horns right as the light turns green, or in any instance if they THINK you are driving too slow. I typically drive 10 over the speed limit, just like my corolla, however, now people are more likely to let you know how much they hate your driving. Other than other people not liking the car, I love my car, and I will definitely will be purchasing another one after I kill this one with the amount of miles I put on it.

The car met all my needs. Amazing amount of space, good in the snow and an incredible driving experience. I highly recommend it.

Great car, especial if you are trying to save in the wallet. Wont turn any heads, but you feel good about the environment.,

This Prius III is my fourth Prius (the others were 2007 models, one still owned and two totaled by teens). All were purchased used from a small lot that specializes in hybrids. Driven mostly in ECO mode I average 55 mpg on hilly roads. The acceleration is good in almost all situations and when the power mode is on it feels like a V-8. Yes, its still looks a bit like a turtle and the rear visibility could be better, but the interior is well designed and comfortable. For those who have thought about a Prius, here are some tips: for older models, buy a "touring". It feels heavier and more solid and the upgraded JBL sound is also a plus. For newer models, the III is a good choice (unless leather seats are required). Like the touring, it feels solid. It's easy to bring it up to speed and then back off the accelerator. It holds the speed well on level roads and requires only minimal nudging when it drops off. Another tip: headlights can be purchased at the auto parts stores for considerably less than other sources. The trick is to avoid touching the tip, since skin oil will cause it to burn out quickly. Lightweight cleaning gloves work great. All in all, I've been very pleased. My maintenance costs are almost non-existent in over 200,000 miles of driving. Two complaints: I'm small (just under 5'2") and the shoulder belt cuts into my neck. None of the adjustment positions help. Also, the car is very easy to total in a front-end collision. The car is plenty solid and safe but there is a good deal of expensive high-tech loaded up front. While it will generally survive the crash, it won't survive the repair. (Remember I said I have teens...) Still, I will keep buying since the Prius is both economical and environmentally more friendly.

Great car that gives me 48 - 50 mpg. Reliable so far, I've done 46000 miles with no problems. I wish they made the driver's seat more comfortable though.

My Prius is reliable ,comfortable and economical. The new technology is amazing. I love it and love that sunroof!

I liked the idea of a hybrid, I have heard good things about Toyota, and a used Prius was in my price range. However, the test drive was enough to tell me we would never get a Prius! The design of the middle console area between the front seats was totally bizarre and seemed to waste a lot of space, the dash display wasn't great, and I didn't love the visibility.
