Prius for the Environment

You can't beat 54 miles per gallon. Filling up the 10 gallon tank is financially painless and only happens every ~500 miles. You can't beat that for economy.

After VW Golf TDI buyback; I'm loving my Prius 4

I test drove the Prius last summer in anticipation of the VW diesel scandal buyback. I'm so glad I did; because I LOVE it! I bought the 4 trim with both the Advanced Tech and Preferred Conveinence Packages. I absolutely love the automatic high beam feature, blind spot detection; adaptive cruise control and parking sensors. The Prius just has sooo many more features than my '15 Golf had. I don't miss the VW at all! I'm easily getting 56- 62mpg without even trying. There are a lot of people that think the styling is ugly; but I absolutely love the quirky, edgy design. It looks so unique compared to all the other cookie-cutter boring cars! The SeaGlass Pearl color is beautiful! My only complaint is that the fog lights should be standard on the Four trim, and the 17" inch wheels should at least be an option on the Four. I wanted the sunroof more; and you can't get a sunroof on the Four Touring. Other than that; BEST car purchase decision ever so far! I didn't wait for the Prime because I don't have any access to plug-in; otherwise I would have bought that model.

Excited to be driving a brand new Prius!

Wow, this car has everything: Satellite radio, variable cruise control, lane maintenance, blue tooth and it gets amazing mileage. Handles like a dream. Lots of pep. A BIG improvement over our 20006 trade-in. I don't know why we waited so long!

A great car

Just bought our 2nd Prius. Our '08 was the first hybrid. It was basically trouble free, so we opted for another one.

2017 Prius - An amazing advance over 2002 1st Gen!

We just purchased a 2017 Prius Four (non-Touring model), and it is an amazing advancement over our first-generation 2002 Prius! While all of the monitor screens, menu selections and push-buttons are at first overwhelming and intimidating; after driving it for a couple of weeks, most driving functions are "standard Toyota", except for the following noteworthy new features: 1) Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist 2) Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection 3) Blind Spot Monitor & Rear Cross-Traffic Alert 4) Dynamic Radar Cruise Control 5) Intelligent Parking Assist & Clearance Sonar While not a sports car by any means, the 2017 Prius has solid handling (due to a re-designed suspension), reasonable acceleration (considering its hybrid design and fuel economy), and outstanding Toyota reliability. We anticipate driving this Prius for 12-14 years, like the 2002 model that we gave to our granddaughter last year; and we look forward to our next self-driving, autonomous Prius, whose purchase is probably a decade away! Note: In the 135,000 miles that we drove our 2002 Prius, it saved us over $12,000 in fuel, compared to the 1998 Camry V6 that it replaced. And, the mileage we are getting with the new 2017 Prius is even more impressive. Our 2002 averaged 45 mpg in mixed city & highway driving; and we are currently getting 63.5 mpg with the 2017, which is even more than what Toyota and other sources have estimated. In all, we are very satisfied with our purchase; and we would definitely buy another Prius, based on our previous experiences with this hybrid.
