love it so much i want another.
I definitely got my moneys worth with my rav4. its never let me down. great small suv for small families but enough trunk space in back for all your needs. I will admit you can seat 4 fine but for 5 it might be a tad cramped. which is one of the flaws. other than that I would recommend anyone who is looking for a used small suv for a family of 3 or 4 . Its good on gas ,excellent in any weather, and a fun suv to drive.

Toyota RAV4 Sport
Good vehicle, especially with 6-cyl engine. Toyota manufactures excellent vehicles; this has been our 4th purchase. Used for wheelchair transport as well as hauling grandchildren!

Just test drove a 2006 RAV4
Today, which just happens to be National RAVioli Day, I thought I'd take a moment to write a quick review of the 2006 Toyota RAV4 Sport I test drove yesterday. After losing my beloved 1996 Toyota Tacoma standard pickup to a total last month, I've been on the hunt for a replacement vehicle. I was initially thinking I was going to purchase another Tacoma, but then I decided that it might be time for me to make it possible for me to transport more than one person at a time (or one weeniedog as in my case). I'm an admitted Toyota snob and have always thought all RAV4s I've seen over the years are pretty cool, so I went to a local used lot and took one for a spin. Can you sense the smile on my face that hasn't left yet? This 11 year old model looks sharp and has a lot of "pickup" (pardon the truck reference) for its 2.4L I4 configured engine, despite having nearly 150K miles on him. Great styling inside and out, I'm definitely more than hopeful that I get the chance to purchase this one. I've done my homework and they, like the Tacomas, are dependable and I think I can expect to get a lot more miles out of this little RAVioli! Next stop after purchase, seeing if I can get the vanity plate HLY RVLI...

Best decision I almost didn't make!
I almost didn't buy a Rav4 when I was looking for a new car in February 2006. That would have a mistake. I've been overly impressed these last eleven years. I pull a trailer for occasionally and have had 3000lbs of tile in the vehicle. I haven't abused it regularly but there's been days that I used my rav like an f-250. At 108600 miles I'm in it for oil changes and break pads. Its been a fantastic car and I've no desire to see it go. I can't say anything negative about this car. Im not saying there aren't better ones but you'd be hard pressed indeed to find another suv with this ones durability/utility/capability. Technology yes. All else no.

Rav 4 XLE
Rav 4's are rated fairly high by Consumer Reports, so it was an easy choice. We purchased from Barber Auto Sales in Brandon, MS. Everyone in the Jackson, MS area should go see Joel Barber before buying a used car. He is super nice, very knowledgeable about cars and the industry, and a pleasure to deal with. Yes, you read correctly - I said a pleasure! There was a hum when driving because the tires were cupped; he offered to split new tires even though there was still plenty of tread life - I didn't ask, he offered! He has owned at least 2 Toyota dealerships and has been in the industry for decades, but has tired of high-pressure sales and now goes to auctions looking for really high quality used cars. I do not think I will go to another person for a used car. This was the most awesome car buying experience ever! I have found a dealer for life!

persistent issues
Liked the features and comfort, storage, looks. Gas milieage mediocre at best in town and on highway, but persistent issues with rear wheel sensor failures (4 times in 4 years), error codes, and tendency for the fuel evaporative hose to dislodge when driving through standing water that splashes up behind left front wheel and knocks it out of canister. Also started burning oil excessively. Recall issued for oil burn, requiring oil change and monitor at dealership at 1300 miles after oil change. Dealer overfilled the oil by a full quart - imagine that. Not happy with Toyota quality and dealer shenanigans. Bought a Ford. Adios Toyota.

Long Term Owner - Love it!
I bought the base model in Sept 2006 as a Certified Used with 8,000 miles on it. I have driven it 122,500 miles. Total maintenance costs have been $7,069, which I think is reasonable. I have had to replace the water pump, a rear shock and a seal on the transmission. Other than that, just replacing tires and normal brake work as they wear out from normal use. The SUV has been a dream to drive, it is laid out perfectly, has excellent cargo capacity, and is comfortable to drive all day. I have averaged 22 miles per gallon. The controls are almost perfectly arranged - all knobs and buttons are logical and well placed except for two things - the clock is small and awkwardly placed - can't normally see it. Also, the emergency warning light button is a long reach for the driver. One point I want to make is that if you are a bicyclist, this car is a dream - the major rack manufacturers make a bicycle mount that mounts over the spare tire. Have this professionally mounted and you don't even notice the bicycles there except by seeing them in the rear view mirror. Best bike mount ever. Overall, this vehicle has been a dream come true and the dealers says that if I continue to have them perform all the recommended maintenance, it should last to 200K miles. I would buy it again in an instant.

So far so good
I traded a heavier SUV for the RAV4. I really wanted a car that got better gas mileage and so far I have not been disappointed. The only thing I don't like is that it has very slow pick up, especially when going up hill. I haven't had to drive it in snow yet, so that will be interesting, compared to the heavier SUV.

another reliable toyota
count on it for reliability and style with plenty of room in back seat. The ideal car for a family and super comfort for long trips. Luggage and leg room for all without a 3rd seat.
