Surprised with the issues on my 2004 Sequoia

Purchased in 2005 to use for long distance trips. Only got less than 68,000 miles. My rear window won’t go down. After doing some research, found out that this has been such a problem that consumers thought Toyota should have had a recall but they left the $600.00 expense up to the customers. Some have managed to fix it themselves and save the money but Unfortunately I can’t do that. It’s also been reported about the break light coming on. Toyota knows about this issue as well. Consumers have spent a great deal of money replacing sensors and the problem reappear after a year. I’m starting to drive it more now and wondering what’s next, I’ve owned several older Toyota cars and know that they are very dependable.

Best SUV we have ever had.

Lots of interior space to haul stuff, furniture, etc. back is as big as a pickup. Lots of room for kids and/or adults. Third row seating is roomy. Very reliable. Great car to drive on open Road.

It’s reliable but to the extent of many minor issu

Bought it used off a lot. All the sensor lights come on on the dash after driving for 15mins. Then the hatch that’s unpredictable never opens. Only when it wants. RECALL THAT!PLZ

Can’t beat it!

I’ve owned 14 cars from Jeeps, to Camaro. This car has been the most reliable like other reviews have said. Purchased new in 2004, it now has 166k and drives perfectly. Can’t complain

Most Reliable & Durable Car I've Owned

This is the second Toyota Sequoia I've owned. After 14 years of wonderful service we were involved in an automobile accident 700 miles from home. Although the insurance company eventually totaled the car it was still driveable for the 700 mile trip home. Having been extremely satisfied with my first Sequoia, I of course, bought another one and am just as pleased. We can comfortably fit 8 tall adults and still have room for luggage/cargo. It's a V8 engine, so it has plenty of power and easily merges from highway entrance ramps into faster traffic. One area I wish would be improved would be the gas mileage. However, it does have a large 22 gallon gas tank, so you can travel a long distance before filling up again.

Best SUV ever own

This was the best from Toyota. Had the SR5 base model the leather was very comforbale. There was heated seats on the SR5 and not lumber suport for the power driver seat. The V8 was very powerful and not the best on gas

Problem with my 2004 Sequoia

I own an 2004 Sequoia Limited. It has just 118000 miles and to date has been reliable. I just put a new exhaust system on this week. An issue has arisen that Toyota was aware of on the 2003-2005 Sequoias. The Vsc,traction control, etc ,and brake lights all came on in the dash. I immediately took the car for service. They cleared the code, but said it could be two sensors in the master cylinder. Very expensive repair. Each sensor is seven hundred dollars. It seems Toyota has no answer for this problem,at least according to what I have read on the subject, from sensors,to master cylinders,to new computers,to re flashing the computer. The problem seems to reoccur within a year. It causes the braking system to go crazy and engine to go into limp without warning. I read cases where people have spent close to six thousand dollars for the repair only to have it happen again. I don?t feel safe driving the car now and can?t trade it in good conscience.

WORST HATCH LATCH DESIGN

I think this is the best vehicle I have ever driven. It has great torque. It is comfortable, and dependable. But in my 77 years I have never had a vehicle that has frustrated me more. I have had to replace/repair my hatch latch no fewer than five times, perhaps six, at a cost of a few to several hundred dollars each time. Neither Toyota nor my Dealer would accept responsibility for the faulty design, parts, or workmanship, although. Like clockwork, I have to have a latch repair every 2 years.
