Horrible Truck
I bought my 2003 Toyota Tacoma in 2003 and i I've regreted it ever since. The truck has NO power! The truck handels poorly in the snow! I cant make it up a tiny hill in the snow. I am very dissapointed! I need power. Will next buy a Chevy, but for now im stuck with this, sadly.

Great Truck
This is my second Toyota truck and I am more impressed with it than the last. Bigger engine this time around, V6 3.4l, coupled with the TRD/SR5 packages, this is a very capable and dependable truck. I've only had a couple of minor issues with the power steering pump, once fixed under warranty. The A/C condenser drain isn't very well placed and depending on the angle you turn it to, you could end up with water dripping on the exhaust manifold, over time leading to rust. Routine maintenance will keep this truck running a long time, 115k and counting on the original clutch.

Most capable compact/midsize pickup
I have ridden in many trucks and this vehicle in particular stands out to me due to its high dependability and reliability. I have never had any problems with it and have now owned it for 5 years. Only routine maintenances were performed and everything is still in perfect condition. It has a very good acceleration and the throttle is very responsive. The layout of the interior is very well-planned with the exception of the clock. The clock is placed just out of view behind the side of the steering wheel. The TRD Off-Road package is very capable, and combined with 4WD, the 3.4L V6, and the SR5 trim level, it is a very capable vehicle. The 4WD version sits higher than most vehicles in its class and provides the driver with a better view of the road and surroundings. I highly recommend this vehicle to anybody looking for a compact/midsized pickup for light to medium-duty work. It is a very capable vehicly for off-roading and the Rear Differential Lock is a very useful feature for off-roading. In the end, it is a very reliable vehicle with a powerful drivetrain for its size and very capable for many situations.

My Truck
My particular truck has several rattles in various spots, mainly in the dash. Kind of a rough ride. The clutch has needed to be lubed a couple of times, but nothing a good amount of silicone spray didn't solve. Mine is a base model, and for a base model it is actually quite nice. The battery lasted 5 years. The clock is in a hard to see location. Overall it's a nice little truck, not too small, and gets decent gas mileage.

Great truck
I purchased a pre-owned ext cab 2003 Pre-runner with a 2.7L. I had a 3.0 Ford Ranger and switched because of the gas mileage I as getting with the Ford. I wanted a 4cyl but wanted that bigger truck feel and the Tacoma has it without question. Imo it has much more interior space than the ext cab Ranger, particularly in the back of the cab. More importantly I find that the Tacoma is easier to drive and has better maneuverability than the Ranger. I'm very happy I made the switch.
